Would he be the solution upfront?
Nkunku- Toney- Jackson.
This would mean Broja is surplus to requirements.
The important point imo , he should be able to hit the ground running, by the end of January.
i understand he is back in training, he is up for sale, should we make a serious offer?
Ivan Toney?

Broja isn't good enough...never has been & needs selling in January...but he deserves a chance
Nkunku & Toney (could) be a devastating partnership...the former is yet to be seen & assessed though & Toney (who is a known quantity) will attract a bidding war I suspect...Utd & Arsenal will be interested

Morning JW,
The more i consider Toney, it strikes me as a no brainer.
Yes there will be interest, but the one thing i think we can rely is the ownerships ability to put an offer together that Toney cannot refuse.
It will be in the 80m + region imo, but you know what i rather go with him opposed to Osimhen, we rarely have good outcomes with players who are sharp in Italy.
I think that our project will be attractive to him.
I just think we need a no frills player, who can hit the net and hit the ground running, opposed to an import, who may need a season!

I think we should be going all in for Toney personally.
Even chuck Broja in for a part exchange or an extended 18 month loan deal.
As much as i want Broja to succeed, i don't think he'll ever be lethal enough for us and where we want to get back to.

My fear with signing Toney is that he plays for a hoofball team. Brentford just spam crosses into the box from the half way line, down the wings and long throws. How will he look in a proper footballing side?
I’d prefer spending that sort of money on someone like Ferguson from Brighton (but I really don’t want us getting mugged off by them again).
Also if reports are true we didn’t sign Maddison due to his age, Toney is older….🤔

A great player no doubt but not sure he'd be available unless the bid was astronomical? To be fair no top level striker will be cheap however

Do we play the right style of football for Toney? In my opinion he's similar to Lukaku, but Lukaku at his best was great on the shoulder of the last defender. What I'm saying is that if Lukaku isn't the right fit for us, is Toney? There are not a lot of great strikers out there at present, and I do admire Toney, but I'm not sure he's right for us.

Lukaku, imo, with him it is his poor attitude, he is petulant .
Agreed though there was discontent he was not getting the service he felt he needed to be at his most effective in the first 5/6 months of second contract period.
Lots of great strikers?
Well, there maybe, but are they available, will they hit the round running?
