Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected to take guidance from Sir Alex Ferguson in radical overhaul of Man Utd.
I love SAF obviously but is he the best person to guide the club at this stage of his life? He played a huge part in the recruitment of David Moyes and the return of Ronaldo. Both huge mistakes.

and John Murtough next to go after Richard Arnold. This seems positive. From the outside he doesn’t seem to bring much to the table.

Hopefully we get the right people in to take us forward.

Had Qatar never stepped forward the public opinion on Sir Jim would be very different.
Let's not beat around the bush...we know why people wanted Qatar. They wanted the perceived football cheat code.

……
My guess is they wanted rid of the Glazers pronto. But you already know that.

We all want that. Some of us don't want it at any cost though. Spaffing away 100 years + to become a sportswashing vehicle for Qatar doesn't sit well with lots of us.
We now have an alternative and somebody who is incredibly rich in his own right and from the Manchester area too.
If it doesn't work out the club can still be sold at a future date also.

It is not ‘this’ though is it Robbsie. SE has been bashing his chopper over Jim yet the Glazers are still here and will be for some considerable time.

The Qatari bid for full control. Jim failed to get funds to bid for full control. He then Failed to gain the full Glazers share. So now he is a minority share holder. He aims to take fill control but that may never happen as it relies on the Glazers to sell. And as long as United make money, they have no incentive to sell. According to reports he has asked for full control of the footballing side of things. His record with the clubs he already owns is up and down. But if it is a success, that would give the glazers even more reason not to sell as they would be taking in more than they already are.
Jim is just one of many different bad options among the lot. For some the Qatari taking over would be worse than having the Glazers still in full control. For others, having the Glazers in full control or the Glazers still at the club is the worse option.
I don't see this as a win as we still have the Glazers here. We'll have to see what Jim will actually do and if it would actually result in an improvement.
Others don't care if the Glazers are milking United for all its worth as long as United win titles. Same goes for others who wanted the Qatari in.
Sportwashing has been carried out by many nations. You need to be equally upset by it when it is carried out by Western nations as well the the Gulf nations or other "udisarable" nations. Yet it seems it is only ever one way. Take Russia for instance. They're banned from UEFA and the Olympics, yet counties like Israel or North Korea aren't. The same consistent standard isn't applied.

I don't really care if the club increases in value and the Glazers make more money if Jim is a success.
I dislike what they've done to the club but if Jim can fix it and we get back to competing like we should do with the resources we have then I really won't be bothered if the Glazer's coin it in.
I just want to see an entertaining and successful team on the pitch with the club holding on to some of its values.
Having a Manchester lad being the catalyst to us getting back up there is surely the fairy tale* story?
*As fairy tale as it can get with a multi-billionaire involved.

Anyone but the Glazers making the sporting calls is an improvement.
Not what United needed but a step in the right direction. Hugely important he gets the right people in the right positions now and then gets a decent manager.
