Tottenham are facing serious allegations of breaching transfer rules during Jermain Defoe's move to Portsmouth in 2008.
The Times claims new evidence shows Spurs dealt with an unlicensed agent while agreeing to sell ex-England striker Defoe to Portsmouth for £7.5million.

The FA has said it is prepared to review evidence of potentially serious breaches of agent rules in a transfer involving Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth and Jermain Defoe.
An investigation has found that during a private hearing concerning the transfer of Defoe to Spurs in 2008, it emerged that Defoe, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and Harry Redknapp, all dealt with an unlicensed agent.
Breaches of FA agent rules have led to clubs being deducted points and bans for directors. Luton Town were deducted 10 points for breaking Agent Regulations.
Independent experts have told The Times that a failure to comply with these regulations should be regarded as an extremely serious matter, potentially leading to heavy sanctions.
Clubs can be hit with a transfer ban, a points deduction or even relegation.

Lets not forget Spurs have previous being docked 12 points before the fine being upgraded back in Sugars days so assuming that Sandy doesn't count the few Trophies that his club managed to "acquire" in and around that time.
As for "doping the fack out of football" being going on for ages, lets face it Liverpool would never have got out of the Second Division at the time without the Littlewoods money from Sawyer or whatever his name was.

Football needed investment to grow and be competitive at the time. All the clubs have had investment at one time or another in the past. That's why they introduced the financial rules, because they were necessary to protect the game in it's modern form, but that wasn't always the case in the past.
