Kenny has to improve

I know this will upset a few of our fans but i have to say this.

For me Kenny coming in with Clarke was a good move, under hodgson we couldn't even pass the ball (hodgson is a really good friend of Fergie's am sure they hatched a plan to take us down lol).

Anyhow, this season i have not been impressed with the pig headed behaviour of playing Hnederson and also Carol needs benching.

But the biggest mistake has to be letting Merielis go to Chelsea, he linked our midfield and attack togther. Like Alonso, these type of players value is only realised when they have gone........Kenny should have known better it was plain to see what Merileles brought to the team.

Also if we had any real desire of top 4 then this was the season to give Aqualini a go (how's he doing in Italy?) imagine our midfield with Aqualini and Mireles added into the mix.

For me the biggest disapointment is our tactics seem very simple and one dimesional, we have started to going back to square passes again since loosing speed of play, we have no idea of how to run off the ball as per dummy runs. We have not rehearsed any tactical passing templates through the middle to help open a team up; in fact i don't think we can play 'through' a team.

The last game we played we only got past the defence on the wings once untill Bellamy replaced Downing, i want to see Johnson being allowed to play as a winger when fit.

Whilst Kenny has improved us he needs to take the next step and show that we can cut teams open through the middle, more dynamic runs off the ball needed and wing play needs to improve alot more.

WUMS will be deleted but other teams fans feel free to add your comments.

Good riddance I say. Whoever signed the cheque for Aquilani should be sanctioned under the Mental Health Act. Firstly he was injured and then it has been plain to see the whole time he's been on our books he hasn't wanted to be here.

Meireles did play a few good games for us. To suggest however that he was maybe our best player last season is ludicrous. HE handed in his transfer request and demanded a pay rise or whatever. I trust the club on this one and at his age we got a couple of million quid profit on him.

In my eyes it's simple - if they don't want to be here, get rid

the reason i ignored your so called referenced points is because they don't stack up. May i also add that as the article is in part about those two players it stands to reason that they might be discussed within the article. If another person chooses to add his comments and of those that you do not agree with don't just respond with 'moaning' jibe, be more socratic, have whilst doing so but don't take the easy option..............hopefully we might learn of each other with a smile

So using your own comment, it is perfectly acceptable for somebody on a forum(oh look, I know what a forum is) to add comments to a debate. However in your comment you contradict that point by telling somebody they shouldn't be here, simply because a person voiced his opinion that you both were moaning.(Yes I'm talking in the third person, I think it will be easier for you to understand that way)

If you had taken the time to not read two sentences of my comment and read it in its entirity, you would have seen where the debate is. You didn't, so you didn't. So yes, hopefully there's a lesson to be learnt here, read and understand comments before you add your own.

Exactly. Why can't people see that we are Liverpool and if players don't want to play for us, then they are let go? Furthermore why blame a manager for a player wanting to leave? It is not his fault one was greedy and one homesick.

Meireles had some great uses, ie his movement, which I think is one of the best forms of this, I have ever seen but also he had many faults. Playing Gerrard in his position and Adam behind him, will be a better, more balanced system in my opinion.

Aquilani could have been great for us but unfortunately we stuck by him through his injury and when he came back he played a few good games and the following season Hodgson loaned him out. He hardly had any love of the club after this treatment, so he wanted to leave. He was sold.

It all comes down to one thing, if a player wants to leave, sell him.

can we now debate the merits of your persistance in being a co.ck?

I'll let you begin, as I can't think of any points. Carry on.

I think KD was class last season, he never put a foot wrong but this season some of his decisions are baffling.

Henderson for so much money, Downing cost a little too much (but the best of KD signings after Suarez) and Adam instead of Miereles who was excellent last season. More than that, he hasn't replaced Carragher who has been somewhat of a liability for 2 years. I know he's a Liverpool legend, but he's slow and cumbersome and will concede needless free kicks and penalties as well as be the cause of opposition goals.

Another who doesn't like to read comments before posting. Kenny does NOT decide player prices nor their wages. Comolli identifies targets using a very complicated stat. system. Kenny then decides if he would like the player. The owners then implement their own system, which people are calling moneyball to determine how much they should spend. This is done using many formulas - most notable of these are potential, age and stats.

Meireles wanted to leave, so he did.

Carragher has been very good in the past two years. Yes he has made a few mistakes but still has been one of our best performers. Was a rock in the second half of last season. We bought Coates who might replace him when good enough.

I DO read but my opinion is different to yours - and far less bias may I add!

Ah sorry, I got confused. So your opinion is that Kenny decides how much to spent on players? Well what can I say? Our owners and their boardrooms behind their companies and many executives who are millionaires just let their mangers of their companies spend whatever they want. That's very trusting, and ridiculous.

Now that's cleared up, the conclusion is that Kenny doesn't decide how much is spent on players. That's a fact not an opinion. You can quote that.

Meireles wanted to leave due to not getting a pay rise, which was promised to him by the previous owners. Again nothing to do with Kenny, who wasn't the at that time. Again - another fact.

On Carragher, I'll concede - that's opinion.

Bias? Bias of what? What is their to be bias about? Kenny choosing how much to spent on a player? I am biased about that? Meireles wanting to leave after being promised a payrise before Kenny was even there? Also why would I be biased on Carragher, I want the club to do well, I would be biased towards my club, which I can admit to, so why would I want a player who is playing badly to play? Strange comment.

xiuxiuejar (U6109) -

Yeah, Henderson was expensive and so was Downing. On the thesis that you pay top dollar for any young English player then their price tags we in actual fact 'relative' to that of other young English players (Young, Jones, Chamberlain etc.).

Regarding Meireles - did you expect Kenny to bring him into the office and say "Raul you're a good player. Here have a double your money pay-rise."
