Leeds United 1 Rotherham 1

Highlandwhite Matchday Thread ==================================================

Kick off 8pm, Live on Sky Sports & Talksport.

Finally Its welcome to Matchday 17 and another derby game, this time away at Rotherham

Team news
LEEDS
Rutter is a major doubt and will almost certainly miss this game. Struijk Shackleton and Byram are back in training and may feature whilst the players away on international duty all seem to have returned unscathed. Bamford could start up front.
ROTHERHAM
Missing a few key players but welcome back Jamie Lindsay and Grant Hall.

Rotherham lie 22nd in the league with two wins all season and have Wayne Carlisle in temporary charge following the sacking of Matt Taylor after their 5.0 defeat at Watford.

Were in very decent form so I'll go for a 3.1 win with Summerville again on the scoresheet.
Over to you all for predictions and line ups and finally in the customary manner.

Come Onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!

Thought the 3 Welsh lads looked poor for us tonight. Rutter was non-existent too after his France u21s appearances.

Last international break we looked all over the place Vs Southampton. Done same tonight

Yep why oh why did Leeds agree to this schedule?

An extra day's rest probably would have made a big difference especially as Rotherham didn't have the same number of, if any players on International duty and so were fresher.

A14 spot on, said to a mate when we scored this could be ten, there manager looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up, we dont press home, Kamara all fur coat and no knickers, big week two home games win them its happy days, as Ronnie Hilton sang two points at home and one away that'll do,

👍 I forgot we play Swansea on Wednesday and Boro on Saturday both at home so not long to get this bad result out of our system.

Also I'm as sure as you that Farke will behind closed doors getting across to a few tonight despite jaded legs by the international duty players that the performance fell well short of our usual standards.

I am actually convinced now that a team we really do slaughter this season will be a side we least expect to as the bottom 3 clubs you'd think we'd thrash we've been unable to.

How did we not win that ff5. Miles better than them 1 to 11 yet still made hard work of it. Unless we get top 2 I can't see us winning the playoffs when we switch off in games nearly every week. 2 points dropped again

Hi Macca, so being unable to beat a bottom 3 side convinces you we’re going to ‘slaughter’ a good team? Hmm, not sure about that logic…

What we really lack is that player on the bench... the selfish fox in the box who knows this league and will just sit in the box and find the target

It's what we ideally need Bamford to be but it's not happening.

I'm thinking back to someone like Kevin Phillips in his latter years...That knowhow and experience. The sort who won't be complacent

Come on Lorra... it's Leeds we're talking about.

There is no logic around Leeds so I've given up expecting us to thrash a side near the bottom which by thrash I mean by at least 5 goals which so far a 3 goal margin is our best this season.

We've had plenty of chances again tonight but it's almost as though they are trying to score the perfect picture goal and being over elaborate and flash and ultimately extremely careless against opposition they underestimate their stubborn scrapperbility you must crush without mercy when you get on top.

Hopefully my theory comes true next week.

This is very true, we're lacking a Gordon Strachan or Pablo and so I feel Farke needs to sacrifice one of the front 4 to accommodate Gray in the middle joining Ampadu and Kamara and then I think we'll have a better balance to the team.

I agree 100% with that…

Yep, disappointing result and I see DF is again lamenting our profligacy in front of goal in his after-match presser. Well, there’s only so many times DF can get away with repeating that - it’s his job to fix it. Let’s hope he does so as without a solution, autos won’t happen. Thanks for the thread Earl and go well all👍.
