The Redknapps may be crying over the loss of Rooney, but teams win tournaments by not relying on one big name player.

Gary Neville is spot on!

Lennon has pace as well. Basically Capello made a call between taking Lennon and taking Walcott. Walcott's pre-tournament performances were dodgy and Lennon's were better, and he took Lennon, which I think was the correct thing to do. I honestly don't believe Walcott would have made any difference to the World Cup, just as he's making little difference in England games now.

but Lennon ONLY has pace. Nothing else. Walcott is a much better player. I know there is a rivalry between Arsenal and Spurs but I think it is pretty obvious to most football fans. Pace by itself is not enough, even against poor international selections. Lennon has no technique or football intelligence (obviously that is my opinion).
-----------
behave yourself.
Lennon is a far better "footballer" than walcott, although he doesnt quite possess the raw pace of walcott.
Lennon has better delivery (not hard), and Lennon also doesnt run off the pitch all the time, so has more spacial awareness (again, not hard)
Also, Lennons defensive game is VERY underated... he has improved on this a lot over the last few years and in recent seasons he has really helped out Corluka on the right side.

hmm, I would like to see a non Spurs fan who thinks Lennon is better than Walcott. Lennon is terrible one-on-one and can't pass or cross the ball. He doesn't score enough.

Interesting arguement, walcot is better than lenon, but having said I won't use any of them. Xiuxiu u made an excellent point about pssesion football, long balls don't cut it
