It's Very Simple.......

Spurs are not winning Premier league games with 2 back up full backs playing center back !.... Let alone against a very good team in Villa

Thought we were excellent going forward (without many of our best players), Thought Lolo Bentacur was outstanding while he was on the pitch (Cash is a sc{}mb@g !, seem to remember bad challenges from his in prev games vs Spurs)

I'm afraid I don't see Spurs getting a thing from City, Newcastle and West Ham.... They are all too savvy against a defense like ours.

Lots to be positive about in terms of our style of play, attitude and the way we all want the ball and attack.

Simple truth is that we have an excellent 1st 11 but our overall squad is not Top 6 quality. Injuries and suspensions are gonna happen all season.... Unless major issues are addressed in Jan I fear our bright start will have been for nothing. Like I said, lots to be happy about but I don't think this is a squad capable of making the CL places..... I think Sandy mentioned it.. Hopefully an FA Cup with El Tel (RIP) looking down on us this year is in the stars !!!

Shame about the result but loved every minute of today's game.... Lots to happy about but we have to be realistic in terms of expectations.

We’ve had some bad luck with injuries but a lot of this boils down to Levy again. We’ve gone into a season with 3 senior centre backs - 1 with a history of red cards and lengthy lay offs, 1 we don’t want after this summer and the manager doesn’t trust to play now and 1 who was unproven at this level - it’s this level of incompetence at the club that costs us again and again.

Hopefully Bentancur is not out long, but knowing our luck it will be the other side of Xmas now. Why is Gil starting?

Europe is a tough ask now, we’ll get naff all at City and then we’ve got to find a way in those next 6 before they window is open to pick up at least 10 points if we want Europe.

Then it’s up to Levy, no coocking about, dragging deals, just buy/loan a faaaacking CB and for faaack sake do it day one you thunder khunt.

Sad for Bentancur more than anything else - bloke can’t catch a break.

I’m almost tempted to play all the kids next week and rest the key players so we have a chance against the Geordies and West Ham - knowing our luck Bissouma will get sent off again, Davies will get injured and Ange will have no choice but to start Dier.

Oh and can we please at least try in the FA cup this year FFS

When does resting players ever work? Spurs will just have to ride it out, like all clubs have to going through a rough patch.

Everton have it a lot worse than Spurs.

For what is worth Emerson and Davies were not that bad yesterday. They could have defended the first goal better. But in general for a cobbled together partnership did OK. The main problem yesterday was up front with the finishing, and Son constantly being offside.

Spurs could and should have scored a hateful.

The game was lost yesterday because we lost control of the MF after Lolo went off. The reason there were loads of offsides and disallowed goals was because both teams play a ridiculously high line. In spurs case we were doing it with CBs with no pace and defenders playing out of position. There's no way Watkins scores the winner with 2 proper CBs on the field. Its not all bad & lots still to be positive about But Ange has to change his approach in the attacking 3rd without Madders and the club must sign defensive reinforcements... Until that happens, Spurs will continue to look naive against half decent teams..

I just have no idea of what's realistic or who's available in Jan..... we'll see. Spurs have a bright future under Ange but are still being dogged by previous mistakes. Levy has got to lower asking prices for players who have been at Spurs too long and have proven they are not up to it.

Ange has proven what he can do with top players

If he fails, once again it will be on levy and the board

I wonder what will happen…..

I said at the close of the window our squad was left woefully short and would be our undoing, and it's proving so sadly.

Levy out.

Should have been 2 or 3 goals up at halftime, game over

Without the catastrophic 20 minutes against Cheksea, where four players were effectively lost for a number of games, I think Spurs would have gone very close.

Never mind, a temporary three month blip. But going forward with these players plus two or three added, trophies will surely come.

Agreed but it did show that fullbacks are genuinely clueless with aerial attackers or man marking. Davies and Emerson would concede so many goals against a Tony Pulis Team.
