Nor does it fit the media narrative about Arteta's decision to replace Ramsdale

Is it me, or was there more hype around Van Dijk when he first joined Liverpool than Saliba has had in his two seasons. Considering we lost the title when he was injured should have prompted them to the obvious.

Yep, very similar to VVD in his prime where you don't really notice the best defenders during the game unless you're really paying attention. Just quietly snuffs out everything before it becomes a threat, and can still clean up if attackers do get in behind

Other fans still don't understand the impact his injury had on us last year.

Rob holding could not defend in a high line. We've just sold him to crystal palace and he hasn't played a single fecking minute in the league. Effectively relied on a championship level defender to push us to the league.

He will end up one of our best of all time injury permitting

I think he is the best since Sol/Kolo, but Kos has longevity over him atm.
