Highlandwhite Matchday Thread ==================================================
Kick off 3pm, No Live feeds as yet
Here we go again, Matchday 19 and our 2nd home game in 4 days. Hip flasks at the ready for those fortunate enough to have a ticket.
Team news
LEEDS
Missing Firpo for a change, also injured Joe Geldhardt.
Could see Djed Spence making only his second appearance and here's hoping he can stay injury free. DF might freshen the starting XI with so many upcoming games in December
MIDDLESBROUGH
Have several injury concerns but will probably all be fit and raring to go.
Middlesbrough after a shocking start are now in decent form and are currently 3 points off a play off place.
Should be a very good game with a few goals so will go for a 3.1 win with Georginio on the scoresheet.
Over to you all for predictions and line ups.
Come Onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!

Can we go Live once again please AdminsĀ

All the times people were saying things against the 49ers, I said before the season started I think they're sorting things out in the background, they got the club and look what happened, aswell as these dumbass deals that took lots away from what they might have been planing, they brought in some decent players!..
I don't think unless there is something in the background that'll hold them back, I don't think they'll hang around in January, I wouldn't be suprised if they haven't already got a list ready, the same as some'll be looking at our players!..
All I'm worried about is them not being able to hold on to our top players and adding to them!..
Saying the passed people did wrong, that'll be because they didn't have enough to do what people always scream for, but that'll be a liitle problem for the 49ers because I don't think they want to do a Bates with us!..

yes we could improve the team
^^^
That's the point. We have a very good team.
But every team can get better. Dismissing any
weaknesses we have would be a mistake.
Bielsa said during his time the key is replenishing,
replacing, improving upon the squad. No matter
how successful. If you don't, things break down.
We have a fantastic chance of going straight back
up. To shrug off weaknesses when we can improve
and strengthen would waste that chance.
Hopefully, the 49ers have learnt from the mistakes
of the recent past and they do everything they can
to replace and improve upon our squad. And make
us as strong as possible across the park.
Leicester won't sit back in the transfer window.
Doubt Southampton or Ipswich will either.
Nor should we. Add three to four quality players
to what we already have and we'll destroy teams.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Four into three won't go.
Ipswich have really thrown a spanner in the works of this season. Any other season, Leicester, Southampton and ourselves would go straight back up, the rest of the division are pretty dire.
I'm a worrier and next season, if we don't go up concerns me.
We have to come up this year.

Our defence isn't normally as suspect as you suggest.

Yes it is

Lowfields, not sure if you've seen the table so I thought I'd put it up for you!..
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/championship/table
In the top 6 there are goals against 3 teams worst than us and 2 better!..
So your making no sense, because we might not have the best defense in the div but we sure as hell don't have the worst!..
There are 20 teams worst than us!..

It's hardly a mature and reasoned argument the guy makes is it Germany, what do you think?
Just disagree with everything everyone else says. Sad really.

Another interesting league because it often indicates how well a team defend is this one

It is no coincidence that Arsenal are towards the top of the Premier League and we had such a poor disciplinary record last season.

Agree with every word of that. Build from a position of strength. The club have not doen that at several pivotal moments in our history (summer of 1992, in top 2 in 2010/2011 with Grayson and the summer of 2021 after the 9th place finish) You know the rest. Learn from history.

Whoever finishes 3rd faces the prospect of being knocked out in the playoffs by the team that finishes 6th. We've done it before. Its imperative that we finish 2nd or one better.

It gets me why people talk about 3rd to 6th place, Leicester have taken 19 games from 46 to get 8 points more, we've got more than enough time to claw those points back, the same as Southampton or any 2 in the top 6 can stop the betting on Leicester and Ipswich going up together!..
It was only a few games ago there was an 11 points gap!..
