Let’s talk about the goalkeeper don’t bite my head off but in my opinion he’s not great. Two questionable goals conceded at his near post in the last two games. We often hear the defence is poor but he’s part of the defence but he seems to get by under the radar.Hes been at the club for four or five years and hasn’t progressed very much.Questionable distribution not vocal enough etc.He makes good saves admittedly but as Roy Keane would say isn’t that his job.Time to give Darlow some minutes.I think if you have ambitions for promotion you need a good all round gk and in my opinion Meslier is not the one.

Only two sides conceded less goals than we have,
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Better way to put it ADRITK ……
21 out of 23 teams have let in more goals than we have.
Or to put it bluntly
‘can anyone argue against the fact that we’ve got one of the best defences in the league’ ?
1000 games,eh?
Would have thought someone would have learnt something in all that time wouldn’t you?

Am sure some on here play Football manager, too much 🤣🤣🤣
I mean whether you rate him or not, he’s be good this season.
but to replace him mid season, would be utter madness.
Who would you get in 🤷🏻♂️ Some nomark who a reserve Keeper.
The squad is really strong, yet some think we should be bringing in 4/5 player 🤦🤦🤦
-----------
agree 100%.
tho I was always a more fifa manager mode rather than football manager, game play much better.
bet on yours you sold greenwood for 500 big ones LIW?

Just to put you right Spanish, I wasn't RSL but am definitely a big Leeds fan and as I've said before been to over 1000 matches which surely qualifies me for an opinion. I say what I see, and can anyone argue that our defence isn't abysmal and could cost us promotion.

Lowfields, if I called that wrong sorry mate, but I'm not so sure.. if you say then mate
defence tho? - think we've one of the best in the league? - or am I missing something?

I don't accept Lowfield's assertion that our defence is terrible.
I think, as backed up by the stats, fourth best in league, it is a good defence for this level, and that is the point surely, no point in having a Champions League ready defence if you are playing in the National League. Lowfield's expectations seem to be the opposite.
What we do have is a defence that lacks strength in depth.
If you think of the defence as Keeper, CB's, LB, RB, and midfield each one of those positions is fragile.
We have done the keeper to death, we play a novice at RB (though he doing well and Spence look exciting), Rodon is on loan and when he was out we struggled, Struijk arguably came back from his Op too soon due to lack of options and Firpo if he is an option at LB, is out until Christmas. As a unit they are good but we need to improve on options in January.
Ampadu hasn't looked the same player since the last international break, I think, and needs a break, I am concerned that we don't have the depth in the bench that people think, is Greuv any good?
Kamara is the best midfielder in the division by a country mile. Dream signing.
So as I say not bad, just needs more depth.

My take, is you need to look at the defence in the context of the league and how we play. We have a lot of possession and territory so they don’t have so much to do. Are struijk and mes better players this year or just less busy and under less pressure. Hard to say.
The defence looks good enough for this league in my view and the stats support that. Personally - and the Boro game showed this - the problems come with us playing 4 attackers and pressing high. There was a huge gap Saturday between Ampadu and kamara/piroe. Boro exploited that and left pacy attackers running at retreating defenders.
It’s the price of an attacking brand of football. And it’s a brand that’s working so it’s too simplistic to pin it on individuals or a unit.
As for Jan. I’d like a little squad strengthening. Most injuries happen second half of the season. Agree with LIW that left back (given injury records) is the main concern as it has been for years now.

Under Bielsa we played attacking football and let lots in, under Farke we're playing the same sort of football and we're seeing that Bielsa was right in what he said!..
He said as long as we score more it don't matter!..
So, like milky and a few others in the past say, its the way we play, but look at it, if we played less attacking maybe fewer goals would come against us, but if so, would we be where we now are?..
I'm happy with the way Farke plays, and it seems his way could earn him his 3rd Championship promotion, if that's the price to pay than bring it on!..

Oh and yes, Donnyfield also said a lot against Bielsa!..

Left back is only iffy cause our backup option is Firpo.
Byram is amazing.
