One match ban enabled
If the match thread comment count is anything to go by, enthusiasm for this season has waned alarmingly but I'll plough on here while there's an audience.
Must admit if they decided to postpone this until a balmy Tuesday night in May, I would not complain. 2 degrees C (or 35 degrees F for those still living in the 19th century or America) fills me with no glee at all.
It all clicked in to gear for Burnley at last on Saturday, ok it was effectively a Championship fixture under a PL banner, but all the same any five-nil is a good five-nil if you not on the receiving end. Goes without saying, this is one of those we should win comfortably but so rarely do. And the fact that our record in these games is so poor and that confidence in the Burnley squad will be high coupled with the cold flat atmosphere that accompanies mid week winter games means we'll need a fast start to put some doubt in their minds.
No real news on injuries yet but expect that RAN may return for Bueno if his ankle is up to it and don't expect Neto to make this one. O'Neil expected Sa to be available for tomorrow after a back problem cut short his game against Arsenal and Lemina and Gomes will doubtless return after suspensions.
The interesting selection will be to see whether Jonny returns to the bench after alleged disciplinary issues saw him left out of the squad for Arsenal.
Would like to think that this will be an opportunity for points if we approach the game in the right way...
Goldi's prediction; 2-0

Forest 3-0 down already. Hopefully get stuffed and come to us on Saturday low on confidence.

Raul on a hat trick and Silva subs him off.
Cooper will be sacked in the morning which will be a mistake. Lopetegui to Forest, first game at Molineux on Saturday?

Only RAN and Traore will go to AFCON if selected. Gabon didn't qualify, so Lemina won't go. Bellegarde is French and qualifies for Haiti.

We were talking about this last night and I asked about Bellegarde and was corrected by a delightedly smug 16 year old teensplaining to me that Haiti is not in Africa.

Had no clue Bellegarde was from Haiti

Felt it was a comfortable 1-0. We had more in us if we needed to but it was a tough watch at times also felt the subs could have been a bit sooner felt we needed legs In the engine
Sarabia has these sublime moments where he looks a pure #10. But then he goes missing for long spells

Some interesting results this week, Everton's form is decent but didn't see them beating Newcastle 3-0. They'd be above us now, in fact 10th without the deduction.
Got to hand it to Emery and Villa too, they go to Arsenal on Saturday and can close the gap to one point.

Good to see Jimenez finding his groove isn't it.

I think so, I dont give toss about Fulham but for him personally its great to see him regaining a bit of form. Thoroughly decent bloke, just cant find it within me to wish him anything but the best after all he's been through.
I'll be yelling obscenities at him if he ever scores against us mind.
