Wolves v Forest - Match Thread

I spoke to soon last time….we were even worse than against Everton.

The Good: Mangala and Murillo. .

The Bad: Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.

The Ugly: The players attitude.

Special Mention: Our Away support.

The Last Time we played (Wolves (H) - a 1-1 draw):

Navas

Williams Felipe Niakhate Toffolo

Freuler Mangala Danilo

Johnson Dennis

MGW

Proposed Lineup:

Turner

Aina Felipe Niakhate Murillo Toffolo

Danilo Mangala Dominguez

MGW

Elanga

Subs:

Vlachula, Omobamidele, Aurier, Williams, CHO, Sangare, Yates, Origi, Wood

With a back three we night just pick up the points....

Injuries:

Boly and Awoniyi.

Laughing @ Derby:

Hennessy, McKenna, Omobamidele, Montiel, Tavares, Kouyate, Aguilera and Santos

Form:

Wolves (H) - W3 D2 L1 GF9 GA8 - 13th (8th in the Home Form table)
Forest (A) - W1 D1 L4 GF3 GA13 - 16th (17th in the Away Form table)

* Wolves are unbeaten in five at home. This includes wins v Spurs…and City!!!

Prediction:

The last time we see Cooper? As part of Forest…most likely.

I’m going heart over head. Steve and us deserve more than this (says every football fan ever).

An awful performance and a 1-0 Forest win.

Final Words:

COYRs!!!!

Thanks for posting chile.
A return for Turner in goal? I don't think Vlach had done anything wrong. Also I think Felipe was way off the pace on Wednesday although he did put in some effort and wasn't the worst in the Garibaldi.

I posted this after the Fulham defeat and I think I'll stick by it.

This is fixable.
Reset - team v Wolves
4-5-1; low block
Vlachodimos
Aurier. Worrall. Murillo. Toffolo
Aina. Mangala. MGW. Yates. Williams
Origi (or Wood, makes no difference)

I've brought back Worrall and Yates because they provide the team's heartbeat.

Elanga up top might be worth a try if he promises to stay onside.

Heart says 0-0 (if the manager picks my team)
Head says 2-0 home win.

Blimey! Just seen the team, not sure we could have a more defensive lineup

Personally I have little faith in Kouyate or Williams

Hope it works for him, but it is hope more than expectation

1-1 with a decent performance, its difficult to ask for a whole lot more.
Imo we had the clearer chances, and defensively we looked ok, can’t think of Turner making too many saves.
Hopefully that will keep the Wolves from the door (see what i did there), for another week.
Spurs and Bournemouth, who’ve just mullered Utd 3-0 at the ‘Theatre of dreams’, are the next two home games.
Guess we’ll just have to see what they bring, but for now at least, we have something to build on.
Can’t fault any of the players today, they certainly seemed to be 100% behind Coops.

Ah man, you got even fewer comments than me on my match thread, I feel for you bro

I do fear for Forest though, we've had a tough start to the season at home, I thought Burnley were a massive step down in class compared with what we'd seen this far but Forest weren't far off either. I felt you were there for the talking really but we just weren't at it. Another incredibly frustrating half-arsed performance from us. Thought Boly had a good game, nice to see him doing well, was brilliant for us. MGW had the sort of game that made him such a marmite figure with wolves fans, lots of effort and neat on the ball but too many missed and over hit passes.

Cheers Goldie. I think I put it up with less than 12 hours to spare? I'd almost forgotten with the Fulham game putting me off football for a few days!!

Good to see someone else posting match threads for other teams.

I think we have seen a big change this season. Both in our style of play and enforced changes.

Awoniyi is a big loss. Our only consistent goal threat. As such, we have had to change our style and ultimately our chances of winning. Our loans signings have also been very poor this season.

We'll see plenty of defensive performances between now and January, when we will hopefully see a few new attacking signings.

I really rate Neto for you. A shame he is out missing.

Overall I think one team looked more likely to win, and despite possession, that was us. Toffolo's header and Elanga's shot onto the bar the clearer chances for both sides.

Have a great Christmas (and cheers).

Our performance was a big improvement on the Fulham game in which we just gave up after conceding two goals within a few minutes of each other (not the first time this has happened).

Admitted we didn't have the ball as much as you but in possession we were the better team.

I expect us to adopt this game plan in most of our games until Awoniyi returns, and hopefully nick a couple of 1-0 wins.

Best of luck for the rest of the season.
