Father Time is undefeated...

When your time is up, your time is up!

Take heed of the signs, Poch -

This is akin to Azpi & Ivanovic levels of falling off a cliff, step behind the play inaction. Hindrance rather than useful to progression in more ways than one. Detrimental knock-on effect.

No need to rely on a player pushing 40, and is objectively a weaklink target on the pitch. Cannot stress that enough.
Not to mention...giving Silva meaningful minutes over any younger CB alternative is a fruitless endeavour in the context of a very visible teardown and rebuild around young players and young signings.

Management would be better-served acting accordingly based on the information and signs presented.
By this I mean...draw the line, use that as motive and ammunition to pull Silva to one-side, respectfully inform and make him understand that he will be last choice CB (before it's too late).
Consign him to a non-playing playing capacity role from the sidelines.

Well apart from the fact he's been our one of our best performers recently - but let's not let the truth get in the way of a good dit though, eh!

Siva is gold in that he is the only genuine experienced campaigner/ leader in the side.
He's played his part being mentor to our young squad and this is why Poch uses him consistently.
And the fact he rarely gets injured, tough as they come.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Explain how Silva being a "leader" has helped us in any way, shape or form the past couple of seasons?
I remember the same reasoning / logic used when Ivanvoic was done at the top-level, ended the season in 10th place in which he was one of the worst (if not the worst) players that season
AND
a spent Azpi forced to stay against his will by the way (begged to join Barcelona) at the expense of losing Livramento!
Azpi' experience and the extra £30,000 salary increase sure was totally worth it to finish midtable yet again and blocking a phonenomenal dynamic talent.

I'm past the point of caring about such generic viewpoint when it comes to Silva, you can miss with that BS.
He's been a basketcase for a season and a half now, no two ways about it.
Living off past reputation at present, that's all.
A year is a longtime in football when you are approaching your 40s.
Bigger picture we can do without a player that's on his way out, mind elsewhere. Subsciously wont be playing at full-pelt due to wanting to avoid serious injury. Winding down, going through the motions with a return back home on the horizon

The fact that Silva is out of contract at the end of the season, head in Brazil and on a rapid downward spiral is the more reason management must phase him out without hesitation + Players behind in the pecking order are infinitely better and have a future at the club. Straightforward.

All very well and good, but it doesn't address the idiocy of telling him he is last choice though.

It's clear you do not think that the team on the pitch needs a leader. Especially with such a young squad learning to combine with each other.
The player who leads by example and motivates his team mates in the style of Dennis Wise , JT and Frank Lampard etc did.
Poch clearly does ,and while in the last period one can't deny the occasional blips, but in no way as negatively as you made out.

CMF's a fan of Silva really. If you pay close attention to his code it's quite obvious actually, it took a bit of time to slander him (after the initial purchase) & even then it's not as harsh as most players who can be classified as "experienced" get
