Yes and despite Liverpool fans seemingly constant need to validate him, he hasn’t set the world alight either.

Part of the problem with sacking ETH is that this squad of players is mostly comprised of (at best) mid-table players, and the better players that we have come with their own issues: ball retention (Bruno, Rashford, Casemiro), injuries (Varane, Shaw, Martial, Mount), not ideally suited to a more modern way of playing from back to front (AWB, Varane, McTominay) or they’re really just kids learning their trade (Garnacho, Hojlund, Mainoo).

ETH has made mistakes and there’s tactical issues, but we’re not even halfway through rebuilding this squad into something that can trade blows with the Bayerns, Liverpools, Madrids & City’s etc.

True! 😅

I mentioned Shaw for example as one of our better players but watching Udogie this season gliding past people, going into midfield (and playing there for Italy), wiggling out of tight spots and getting goals & assists, or watching Alphonso Davies flying past people all game long and being a constant attacking threat, technically good, super athletic & dynamic… Our best players aren’t getting into many teams either.

But neither is he anywhere near being a flop. Be honest, if your lot had signed you’d be pretty happy if he’d replicated the returns he has for Liverpool. Mainly because he’s still outdoing anything your own players are doing.

Nunez has a goal approx a goal every 3 at Liverpool. Hojlund is 1 in 4 at United.

I reckon if they switch teams it probably wouldn’t make a huge difference to either.
