Derby County 1 - 1 Wycombe Wanderers

DERBY COUNTY v WYCOMBE WANDERERS League 1 #18

Saturday 1500 16th Dec 2023, Pride Park, Derby

Finally a home game on a Saturday at 3.00pm no less, no doubt we will be on the teleprinter on Grandstand.

I'm geting a bit nervous with this winning lark - its very stressful and I'm wondering when it will be time to relax and Derby can start annoying us by being inconsistent and getting silly results?

Impressive displays? Or maybe getting lucky? Our last couple of gammes have been quite comprehensive (on paper) - there always seems to a point where the opposition should have scored or be more assertive. But, hey! we seem to soak it up and its all good in the end.

Wycombe are sort of mid-table - just the kind of team we should be beatingbut can also trip us up. They come to us on the back of a home defeat to Shrewsbury.

Team news:- Wildsmith (GK), Wilson, Forsyth, Hourihane (C), Cashin, Bird, Collins, Mendez-Laing, Sibley, Ward, Nelson.

Subs:- Vickers (GK), Bradley, Elder, Barkuizen, John-Jules, Fornah, Fapetu.

Couldn't find any details on Flashscore, but could see other U18 fixtures, hence the question.

BBC Sport comments all say the same thing that he's been treated rather shabbily and I have to agree.
Comments also suggest he deserves to be at a respectable club instead of Forest and Derby's name comes up! Perhaps once our L1 promotion specialist completes the job at hand we can thank him and consider Cooper for the Championship.

Or not.

I'm not that keen on Forest rejects....but have to respect the job done by Cooper at the City Ground and also with Swansea. He's a manager that will do really well if given a project to build with a sound Academy of players given a pathway to make their way into the first team.

No thanks.

Yes please.

By my reckoning, he bought enough players for three squads, spent more money than Roman Abramovich, and if he stayed there they would virtually be guaranteed to go down.
Plus he is too ugly for the Rams.

Cooper did well at Swansea and Forest till the mad owner produced about 25 players for him.

Cooper did bloody well last season, remember how we did last time?

If my name was David Clowes I would employ Cooper as manager and send Warne back to Rotherham and I would know that I was right.
