Today marks a bittersweet chapter in Nottingham Forest's history. Steve Cooper, more than just a manager, was the heartbeat of this club. Under his guidance, we witnessed a renaissance, the likes of which hadn't graced the City Ground in over two decades. His departure, whether a sacking or a respectful exit, leaves a void filled with a mix of gratitude, frustration, and a sense of what might have been.
The atmosphere around the club during Cooper's tenure was electric, a testament to his unique ability to unite fans and players alike. It wasn't just about the victories; it was the sense of pride and belonging he instilled in us. Yes, the recent slump, with just 2 out of 27 away wins, raises questions. Yet, one can't overlook the indiscriminate recruitment strategies and the players who, at times, seemed to lack the desire to play for him or us.
Cooper's journey with us was a rollercoaster of emotions. From the euphoria of promotions to the heartbreak of defeats, his passion never wavered. As we witnessed the highs and lows, the cheers, and the tears. It's a narrative that extends beyond the pitch, intertwining with our lives, etching memories that will be recounted for years to come.
Today, as we stand at this crossroads, the decision, whether right or wrong, has been made. We must now look ahead. The next manager steps into big shoes, carrying not just the legacy of Cooper but the hopes of a passionate fanbase.
To Steve Cooper, thank you for the memories, for the sense of community you fostered, and for the pride you restored. You leave not just as a manager but as a legend etched in the annals of Nottingham Forest's history. As we say farewell, I find myself echoing the sentiments of many – feeling gutted yet grateful, wary of the future yet forever thankful for the journey.
Thank you Steve Cooper

‘He won’t be missed’.
Guess you couldn’t find your way to the WFCG with a SatNav.

Feel sorry for you if you hire Nuno, he's a real bore fest

Nuno did keep Wolves up for a few seasons. If he says I'll make you proud, he is reading from a script!

Thank you Steve Cooper for two rollercoaster seasons that respectively ended in promotion followed by survival.
Not helped by the scatter gun approach to recruitment and the selling of B.J. This team contrary to what has been published is worse than the one that stayed up last season.
I expect relegation now and Luton to stay up.

RFB tend to agree with the first part of your statement above, but disagree with the second.
I don’t think the players have the passion/togetherness we had last season.
The only reason i think we have the edge over Luton is we have a better squad, but they appear to have the togetherness which saved us last season.
It may well be a very close call.

Strange decision to go from Cooper to Nuno. Complete contrast in regards to style of football. Cooper will be sought after, Nuno not so much.

If this has happened 3 or 4 games ago I could understand it. However the last 2 games Cooper has dropped those that were not giving their all, bought in some of the team from last year and we have seen that they were playing for him and giving it their all. I fear that was the big Greek wants is a yes man and lets face facts our club has never done well with a yes man in charge. So while at times Coopers tactics could be frustrating this is not good news if there is no real plan in place and all EM wants to do is let his son continue to play running a club behind the scenes.
Will never forget the joy of being in Wembley to see our return to the promised land and will also be grateful for the amazing rollercoaster that SC took us on.
Sadly, today just has that feeling of being a bad bad day for club.

Two wonderful years come to an end. I have been lucky enough to be around for the teams of Billy Walker, Johnnie Carey, and Brian Clough. For me Steve Cooper joins that trio. So - Thank You, Steve and may good fortune attend all your future endeavours.
Nuno - We will back you once we have got over the manner of Steve's departure; but mess up what has been achieved and we will not forgive you.

That was a nice op to read as as a neutral, the guy getting the club to the prem is never normally the one left to enjoy the benefit for long, I guess getting a struggling championship side to the Prem is well forgotten now but the revival of the club is an amazing achievement in reality , next step some other supposedly biggger name to reap the rewards.
