Julian Ward

News breaking just now Murtough is gonna be leaving the club following Fix it Jim’s 25% acquisition of the club, and Julian Ward is in the running for the DOF job.

Any of the scousers on here able to shed light on this bloke? Will he be a good signing for us?

Edwards would be better but he's apparently not interested in working for a club FT again. He'd rather be a consultant so they say.
So his number I suppose makes some sense.

How could that be worse than Murtough? I genuinely think I'd do a better job than he has. In fact I'm certain I would as I clearly watch more football than he does.

Anyone would be better than Murtough, even someone as clueless as you SE85.

What the Glazers have done to the club over the years is absolutely criminal. I will never accept the argument "but they have made funds available", they have, but have been responsible for employing the wrong people, time and time again, this is pure negligence and they have gone unpunished for too long.

The positive (if you can call it that) about this situation is that it's a pretty basic fix. They've done such a bad job since SAF retired that just anybody with a basic degree of competency will be a massive improvement.

It really seems like we did a deal with the (Red) Devil when we got SAF in that when he left we'd be in some sort of purgatory. It really is a masterplan in getting things wrong.

Sort the structure.
Stop overpaying fees and wages.
Get players in who compliment what we're trying to do.
Coach them well.

That really shouldn't be beyond any club let alone one with the resources and pull United has.
