After superb result against Ipswich, needed nothing less than 3 points today to keep up teh pressure.
After such a great result, can understand an unchanged side.
We see that stats, Leeds score most goals early on, Preston dont concede many on, you just know what';s going to happen when we get stats thrown at us.
Thought that we looked very lacklustre, Gray was being exposed by Millar, Spence looked to go forwards a bit too much and it was Rodon and Struijk who were holding it other at the back.
Thought Kamara was far too anonymous and Ampadu can't do it all on his own.
Both Summerville and James caused problems when they got the ball, but no end product and Rutter seemed to cause some problems, but again no end product.
Gray was continually finishing second best, we should be playing a right back at right back, but we're playing midfielder at right back, right back at left back, striker at 10 and Rutter, well, still not sure what he is and where he should play.
Meslier did ok, but then stupidly got involved with someone clearly trying to wind him up and then just really stupid to push player in face.
Some refs might not give a red, but have no problem with a red for that but would have even less of a problem if both players received red. Osamijc having not been involved runs over shoves Meslier and ref should have have penalised both players.
It felt like we were second best, but down to 10 men, really allowed Preston to take advantage of our below par performance.
No disrespect to Archie Gray, but he was being exposed there and we need to be playing a right back there like Spence, who then wouldn'tt have allowed his man to get ahead of him to head Preston into the lead.
Piroe makes way for Darlow. No real loss as Piroe relatively anonymous, it feels like we buy players with no real idea how to play them at times, surely Piroe needs to play up front.
Triple substitution and we're on our way to playing 6 attackers, it completely unbalances us.
Ineffective Kamara is replaced by grieve who seems to do nothing but pass backwards and never seems to want the ball.
Summerville who buzzed around, won some fouls but had little end product was replaced with ineffective Gnonto, who seems to have gone backwards during his time with us and summed up with an awful delivery from a free kick near the end.
the chance meant James played on left and he wins a penalty that to be honest I didn't think was a penalty, but he's gone forwards and in teh box we got a bit of luck.
Was surprised Struijk stepped up to take it, but Joseph fresh on pitch, Rutter, Gnonto and James maybe didn't fancy responsibility, so credit to Struijk for having etc balls to take that and goal notwithstanding, thought he had a great game today, was everywhere at times.
Didn't think Joseph was making much of an impact and it can't be easy for these subs who get so little first team minutes.
It felt like we have have a chance to win that after the leveller and I would have brought Bamford on earlier (although not a fan of just throwing every forward on, but needs must today).
Gray gets exposed again and Millar scores a cracker and truth be told can't argue too much with that result on todays performance.
But, one does have to ask why the performance?
Well, square pegs in round holes, not set up correctly away from home and perhaps a little lack of rotation when needed.
Everyone seemed pleased we signed Darlow and that would be end of Meslier, well, now we'll get to see how he fares in next few matches, at least he has Rodon and Struijk who were on top of their games ahead on him.
Even if Leicester do the business against Ipswich, we're letting go of too many points to catch them unless they have compete implosion now and of course with Southampton overtaking us, its now 2 other teams results we have to have fingers crossed for, not just one.
Finally, could have done with Sky focussing on Ridsdale, 20 years on, we're still trying to recover from what he did to us.
Thoughts from today

I’m surprised they didn’t play that on the Tannow as the teams came out, Macca.

Yes Hearty, it might have got them going a lot more than how limply they started today and most of the match and now I can't get that tune out of my head....I loved that show when I was a kid!

The first suit I ever bought was pink, with wide flairs and brown platform boots. We had eleven players wearing that suit today. Fashion changes, bad taste is permanent.

Excellent, sounds groovy man, a true inspiration to Austin Powers there Hearty although I remember my parents dressing me in a purple velvet suit when I was about 5 like a young Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen in the making.

That was my first choice, Macca, but your Mum got in before me. I bet you thank her for that now, though.

Yes it influenced my future fashion decisions which were a cross between Adam Ant and Tucker from Grange Hill

When I was little more than a toddler, I was a page boy at a family wedding. I was dressed in crimson red velvet trousers and a white shirt. I loved those trousers and often wish I had them now (erm, in a lightly bigger size though🤣).
