Posted this at the end of Jontys ‘thoughts’ article …..where form tables were mentioned.
Was thinking that we seem to have played a lot of the tougher teams away already and was wondering what our run-in looked like…especially away from home, versus those above us.

It does seem that, if we can keep the home form going, we’ve got far ‘easier’ away matches to come versus those that Ipswich and Southampton have.
Eg
Southampton have to play away at Norwich, Ipswich, Plymouth, Cardiff, Bristol, West Brom, Leeds
Swansea, Leicester.
Ipswich have to play away at Norwich, Coventry, Hull, Plymouth, Cardiff, Preston, Millwall, Swansea, Leicester.
Whilst probably our hardest away matches are Cardiff, Bristol, Middlesbrough, Swansea, Plymouth, Coventry, Watford
Of course, lower teams maybe more likely to play the low block, which we’ve struggled against so nothing being taken for granted !
Anyway, can see this going all the way to our last match - a home game versus Southampton!
Could be all on that last match !!!
Harder away games played?

Let's see where we are in 8 games time before we all completely throw the towel in, admittedly I do think top 2 is beyond us but a good run of victories gets everyone believing again and imagine if it comes down to either us or Southampton to go up automatically on that last game of the season at Elland Road... Beckford and Grayson 2010 vibes all over again.

Leicester, Ipswich, West Brom all losing atleast 3 players to Afcon/AsiaCup, pretty sure Saints have a couple, Soulamana is one I can think of. If ever there was a chance to close down the top 3, its January.

With virtually half the season left there's lots of twists and turns to come.

For me, everything hinges on the day the January window closes. Were we active? Were we productive?
Did we better the windows of our rivals? Important
days, weeks, and month ahead.

Gonna refresh this article, only cos I heard it said at the start of the weekend that we don’t play anyone in the top 8 away from home for the rest of the season….. and (appalling) Cardiff were 9th!
After this weekend’s fixtures, it’s a bit different to that , we have to play Boro and Coventry away but every other team is 13th or lower.
Our remaining away fixtures may well be as important as maintaining home form to catching the top 2.
