Carroll cost about 19% of Liverpool's turnover in 2011. 19% of Liverpool's turnover in 2022 would have been around £113m, so in that sense the maths are correct.

Obviously there are other factors that complicate making these comparisons/calculations so they shouldn't be taken as gospel but they are nevertheless quite instructive.

i assume its to do with the size of Liverpool and the attention is that much more? when you look at it overall hes not even top 25 if you're honest theres just so many worse. As i said he possibly isnt even top 3 Liverpools worst. Scored last min winner vs Everton take us to a final and scored in that final too. Got 20m back for him.

Balotelli cost 16m and markovic 20m we got fack all back and they did nothing of note.
