The year started with a mess and ended with hope for future for Spurs fans everywhere.
From the utter chaos under Conte, followed with wilderness years under his no2 and then the stumbling on our next manager, someone unheard of by our fans, and of Southern Hemisphere ilk, where they call the game "soccer" - some fans reacting with utter disbelief, to finishing the year 3 points off the top. This was intermingled with crowd pleasing football, and most of the summer transfer players showing that players can succeed in their first season!
Without a doubt, the two main players from the summer list, though one of them was acquired prior to summer, but this is still his first season for us, come forward Vic and Udogie. Undoubtedly, two of the best players in PL in their positions.
While Arsenal, dubbed the league's champions in waiting by most of the "experts" and Paul Merson, opted for Raya, Spurs acquired Vic on next to nothing, £16.3m - bargain of the year surely!
Spurs also acquired services of Maddison and van de Ven. Both were at the top of their game prior to their injuries, and were amongst the best players in their position - but that has been cut short by injuires
No doubt when these two are back, they will most likely make a significant contribution to the team so a lot to come from Spurs.
Even with back to back loses recently, when we lost key players to injuries/suspensions, Spurs were playing some very exciting football and could've won those games otherwise. The 3 losses were interspersed with a fantastic game at the Etihad, where Spurs denied City all the points by holding them to a high scoring draw of 3-3. Kulu with the last minute goal to deny Pep the chance of 3 points.Ultimately keeping City within earshot of Liverpool mainly.
A game where Sonny score 2 goals, 1 for each team!
Spurs have ended the year 2023 with a yet another great game with end to end actions, beating the in-form Bournemouth, who took United apart at the OT, by 3-1 and ending the year just 1point behind Arsenal and 3 pts off the top.
With the prospect of vdV and Maddison all due to return with a month looming, it will be an exciting Jan for us.
Not mentioning the fact that the transfer window is open, and links to Dragusin, Gallagher and Jota are hotting up too!

Lots of players of right fit are linked tbh, and even a link away for one key player.
Dragusin seems to be done, as far as terms agreed with the players - now they are dicussing the fee structure.
Todibo, the club have approached Nice but they are in the midst of a title challenge and have asked for the player to be at the club until summer.
Jota, the Portugese forward, is keen to team up with Ange, and is having a nightmare in Saudi Arabia. He is a player that potentially will be playing for Spurs, soon.
Connor Gallagher is also a very good possibility The player wants to stay at the club, but the owners are looking to sell to offset the FFP, as CG is home grown and most ikely to command a good fee and generate interests, It seems Cheslea now want £50m for the player when initially he was valued by them around £45-45m
All exiciting plus our players coming back from their injuries by end of Jan will be like having new transfers!

Let’s hope so … we’ve been here before with levy… personal terms agreed but then he fecks about on the transfer fee by low balling and refusing to budge on a minimal amount and another team nips in and does the deal. And we hear the famous line “we tried”
As I have said before all speculation until the players in a presser holding the shirt or if the club announce officially.

Dragusin transfer is very much on, as the player made it clear of his interest, and we have huge problem in CB position. Dragusin is not the first choice, that's Todibo but discussions are taking longer with Nice, and as Ange wants a CB urgently Dragusin talks advanced hugely. It is just a fee structure talk, with probably a loan with a view to secure a deal later most likely outcome.

We have the FA Cup then Old Trafford b4 2 weeks off.
Optimistically we could head into Feb with VDV and Romero back (we haven't been beaten when they've played together). Bentancur getting fitter. Maddison back. Maybe a new CB and midfielder.
We will still likely be without Sarr Son and Bissouma but others like Deki, GLC and Richy have stepped up in recent weeks.
By mid Feb we could have a full squad and 2 or 3 new faces.
No Euro football so it could be a great opportunity to get on a run. Not saying that equates to a title challenge but hopefully progression and a decent FA cup draw could see us have a lot to play for in the rest of the season. COYS!
