First up happy new year and hope no bad heads. Certainly not here as I have to be very careful what I eat and drink now. First match of 2024. 4th match out of 4 over the Christmas period and 9 out of 9 points taken so far. Quite sobering. We are only at the halfway point and the remaining 23 league games have to be completed by Saturday 27th April which is Peterborough away. With still being in 2 cups a massive drain on the dwindling squad and with the transfer window now open I would say investment in new players is essential. 48 points from 23 and 2 points behind and a game in hand over Portsmouth isn't bad. Burton still a jinx team. Just the 1 win in 10. Changing slightly. Burton won the first 4 fixtures but just won 1 in the last 6. Team news. Jones has now left the camp along with Mendes Gomes on international duty. Nlundulu and Johnston injured. Iredale has a knee injury. The 18 picks itself today but rotation probable in the starting 11. Possible 11. Baxter. Forrester Santos Toal. Dacres-cogley Maghoma Morley Thomason Williams. Adeboyejo Charles. Kick off is 3pm.

Wild speculation Dion has sold his house. Deal done with Preston. Also he's going to Swansea. I really hate early days of the transfer window.

Calm down, it isn't going to happen............although, there is speculation that we could sign Luton Town's young striker Joe Taylor on loan. He's scored 12 goals already this season on loan at Colchester United, he scored 12 goals in a struggling team near the foot of the table.

We'll need to find more loan clubs for as many young un's as we can.
We have so few games for the B team, they'll not get match fit and play many games hanging around Lostock.
If we get promoted, do we get a proper full central league gig going again?

Declan John signs on loan with Salford until the end of the season so that's him effectively left the club as his contract expires at the end of the season. Nelson Khumbeni has been recalled from flyde. Fa Cup tied but available for the EFL Trophy and the league.

Does bringing Khumbeni back mean he'll get a shot at a few minutes. I'll wager it's a cunning plan, to help IE keep a sub keeper off the bench.

Khumbeni might be involved against Accrington. Thomason is suspended for that so options limited in midfield. Not 100 % sure on loan moves as he has played for 2 clubs can't move again.

Thanks Benny
It sounds like its make or break between now and the end of the season for him.
The lack of a full B team fixture list won't help anybody, they need to be playing.

9 subs tomorrow so a couple of youngsters will be added to the bench.

I think it may be more like loaning him out to another club slightly higher up.
