Fleetwood Town 1 - 3 Derby County

FLEETWOOD TOWN v DERBY COUNTY League 1 #25

Saturday 6th Jan 2024, 1230, Highbury Stadium

In a spooky sort of way we now know where we stand after the tremendous pressure of an unbeaten run v Posh comes to end. We start again. No complaints from me - we lost to the better team.

Starting again at Fleetwood may be the perfect match to start again. Fleetwood sit at the bottom of League 1 which only means one thing......

Have we tied Cashin down for at least 'til the end of the season and is it a farewell to Max Bird?????? I think the Otis speculation has been quashed.

Do we stick or twist in the January transfer window - we don't exactly have a good record in this mid-season frenzy - what may seem to a a strong addition could upset the proverbial orchard fruit cart.

Another sell out away crowd at a small ground, so for the Faithful making the journey and remember this a TWELVE THIRTY kick-off, which is 2.30pm to Fin, 9.30am to Dixie and 12.30pm to Igor, Scouse and Ang......

Team news:- Vickers (GK), Wilson, Forsyth, Hourihane (C), Bradley, Cashin, Bird, Collins, Mendez-Laing, John-Jules, Nelson

Subs: Wildsmith (GK), Barkhuizen, Thompson, Sibley, Elder, Fornah, Ward

It does. There is something loveable there, even if he tries to hide it...........

Fair enough. I have previously promised to kiss him if and when we finally get promoted so the way things are going I need to start buttering him up a bit. Failing that it will be volunteeers to hold him down.....

Watching it properly now rather than sneaky glances at a phone. Ref looks poor. Vela could easily have been sent off and we could have had one or two penalties.

I agree with all that Vidal. I thought the ref was dreadful. Vela should have gone and we could have had at least one penalty. The pitch did not help at all so all in all that was a very good win.

Ah nice one Scouse!

After the amphibian references yesterday it did make me think there's not been a fish and chip reference for a long time on here.

Not since Vidals fast-food fiasco.

That was a very dark day. I shudder whenever I hear the words "Vale Park". No great lasting damage though. Spart will be thrilled to know I took my lads to a vegan establishment recently. I had absolutely no idea what I was shovelling down but it was all very tasty. Played a bit of havoc with my natural flora and fauna though, if you know what I mean.
