Yeah it was just because to get 7 you needed to be amazing and super cheap as well.
Modric was £16m which was almost our record signing at the time. We actually only got £28m for him too which in hindsight is pretty disappointing.
I loved Berba to bits, but he was £11m which was quite a lot in 2006 (although we did sell him for £31m).

It was the most amazing signing ever.
It wasn't a bargain or anything and I don't think he did enough with us to get him in the 15 or so players who's signing was a 6 or 7. Maybe I should have bumped him up for the wow factor in fairness.
Obviously it's a subjective take on things when you go into the detail, but I do think it gives a reasonable broad brush picture of which managers have made the best signings.

Fair enough, can see you've put a lot of thought into it, nice one. The results are interesting, not surprised to see Poch quite low but equally maybe the club is partly to blame for that.
