Now I know very few people will probably read this, but for me I grew up watching basketball at the start of this millennium and it saddens me that it seems that all the superstars who I idolised seem to be at the end of their career.
Shaq, retired last season. The most dominant big man, arguably of all time. Down low he is quite frankly unstoppable. One of the few players to have to get triple teamed (giggidy).
Vince Carter, the most exciting player I have ever seen play, his class cousin T-Mac who was great. Unfortunately have to mention the vastly overrated and very unlikeable Yao Ming.
Alan Iverson, maybe the most skilful player of the last 20 years. Ray Allen, the best American jump shooter in his career. Giblert Arenas appears to have lost it, Paul Pearce isnt what he was (hes still class), Baron Davis, Kevin Garnett aint that great anymore, Mike Bibby, Michael Redd, the whole of the championship winning Pistons team, Bruce Bowen, Big shot Bob (Horry), Jason Kidd, Stephan Marbury, Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, Antown Jamison.
Kobe Bryant seems like hes coming to the end of his career, he is incredibly talented but I always thought he was overrated as he is far too selfish and hasn't got an excellent shooting percentage.
And my favourite (despite being alright). Tim Duncan, a true professional and the best PF maybe of all time? He would definitely get into my dream team.
I hope the new generation produces as many gems as stated above, however I am not overly excited by this new crop (bar Dwayne Wade who is unbelievable to watch).
Anyway, hope you guys get the chance to read this and get into basketball as it is an enjoyable sport to watch

If dwyane wade played for a team like bulls or lakers, he would easily be considered one of the best ever players

D Wade is so unreally technically gifted. Whereas Le Bron is just an insane athlete.

D-wades spirit is unreal, i don't know if you watched the finals last year, but a pass went over his head on a fast break and he chased after it, jump like 6 rows into the Crowd to try and get the ball, injured himself slightly in the process, and afterwards he said 'I knew I wasn't going to get it, but I hoped my effort would spur the team on' amazing.
There are a few players in the new era that stand out, like Blake griffin, unbelievable hops, John wall, great skill, kyrie Irving, top top pg, born to play. They are just a few that are very exciting

Yeah completely agree, Derrek Rose doesnt really do it for me. Even if he is unbelievably good, I kinda miss CP3 as he has really gone out the lime light.
There is no current rookie or sophmore who I think is as exciting as Manu atm, and Manu isnt even in my top 20 exciting players. Back when Vince Carter played, I just hoped for a fast break so he could show off. Even the slam dunk contests are boring these days!
D.Wades big shot when the heat won the finals was unbelievable! The best Final MVP performance since TD's near quadruple-double.

Kevin Durante I like alot, youngest ever scoring champ, cp3 carried the hornets this year they were truly awful, if it wasn't for him, blimey.
I like deron Williams, always thought he was the beat pg in the league, kinda like a small magic.

Deron does have a killer cross over. I dont think he has the distribution to be the best. Steve Nash at his best had unbelievable vision. Deron doesnt have that.
