Bring Greenwood back and Todibo in.

Greenwood isn’t going to play for United again so why would we bring him back.
Who is Todibo and why should we be bringing him in?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're deluded. He's pulling up trees in La Liga, and being linked with every other top club. Unless there is a big bid for him, he will play, even if its in pre-season as a negotiation tactic to give the illusion we want to keep him and avoid low ball offers.
Given the Antony and Sancho losses, we aren't going to take another hit on Greenwood, he'll likely stay and get back into the first team.
I don't think fan and sponsor backlash will be as strong by the end of the season.

It's possible that the club will bring Greenwood back into the squad, but it currently looks unlikely. The backlash when it was rumoured that he would stay was huge, and the club intimated that he would rebuild his career elsewhere; I doubt that the new sporting leadership will make decisions that potentially generate more noise and instability around the club. Moreover, in the scenario you've described where Greenwood continues to "pull up trees" at Getafe and is perceived as a major asset at the end of the season, he will presumably be valued as a major asset, in which case a sale would generate welcome income; I'm not sure how that constitutes "another hit" like Antony and Sancho (players we can't profitably sell because their performance levels are well below their salary levels). Maybe VC and I are wrong, but we're certainly not "deluded" and from where I'm standing, your interpretation seems to cloud a prediction with what you would do if you were in charge.

We wouldn't all be begging for a player (well I don't think so anyway) with a record of 5 goals in 17 at Getafe would we? So why would we want Greenwood back with all the baggage that would bring.
Selling him and, as rumoured today, Alvaro Fernandez, would give us quite a bit of wiggle room in terms of FFP I believe.

A stupid and wayward take if you apply any context to those stats and the amount of time said player has been away from football. Plus we know what the player is capable of pre his moment of madness.

It's not really that stupid though
You've quite rightly admonished me for just basing it on those modest stats so if we're going by his previous form for us we must also go by his previous behaviour too. Behaviour which, for me at least, doesn't make it worth the hassle of bringing him back. For the record I wouldn't want him back if he had 17 in 17 either.

Add to that the fact that Old Trafford is likely to be the hardest place for him to rediscover the productivity he had before his transgression. The life of any player at United is subject to so much more noise than pretty much anywhere else. With his recent history, the level of scrutiny, abuse, comment and intrusion will be off the charts. While I too don't want him back on principle (unless we see a very sincere and frank apology), I also tend to feel that for him to rebuild personally and professionally, he's probably better off going somewhere where the limelight is much less fierce.

As was said above by someone, he is not coming back. I do not see Jim and his people getting involved in this sort of nonsense. I still stand by it we should have never got rid. This player will end up at an elite club that I have no doubt.
His stats however are not at all modest if you factor in his time away from football. He was training in parks! This is elite level football you need the right conditions to train and local park is not it.

I don’t think you understand what deluded really means. I may be wrong but I do not think so.

Weren't 2 of them against a league 6 team?
