Gnonto

Looks increasingly like we are trying to extend his contract. Hope they get the clauses right this time.

If he commits to LUFC, we should commit to him.

I agree, but I'd love to know how you felt at the end of the last transfer window towards the guy.

Problem Gnonto had, along with Jack and Sini had they stayed, is that we can only play 2 wide fowards at a time, and 2 were always going to be stuck on the bench. Unfortunately for Gnonto, Cry and James have been better and deserve there spots. Had Harrison stayed, he'd have a difficult job getting ahead of James, and he doesn't get ahead of Cry.

Every time I see him he is smiling and showing a lot of effort. All credit to the club but also Gnonto himself for turning around what was a messy situation

He’s a bit of an elephant in the room, having his talent and getting the odd 20 minutes off the bench but all it takes is an injury to one of the wingers and we will need him

Note that nothing has been agreed yet, at the moment as Stoopo says, we are trying to extend to his contract, and until he signs on the proverbial we should take nothing for granted.

Football's a competitive sport. Players compete against one another for a regular spot in the first team. Gnonto has not successfully dislodged either James or Summerville this season, despite us having dropped down a division.

It's not enough for our Italian international, or anyone, to say that the reason why he doesn't play regularly is that others have been playing out of their skins this season. He obviously hasn't, either on the pitch or in training, so he remains a sub.

He may be smiling and showing a lot of effort but that's obviously not enough for Farke. We may need him to come off the bench when the front line needs freshening up but that shouldn't be enough for him.

Has he played well when coming on, really? In my view, Anthony has made a better job of being in the same position as Gnonto - at least he's scored.

I've been very disappointed in Gnonto this season, beyond whatever happened at the start. It seems like he just hasn't really featured. I really hope the new contract fires him up and he shows everyone what he can really do.

Since the transfer on/off in the close season he has not looked like the same player who we were thrilled by last season. In fact after his injury last season he looks like he is playing on half throttle.
As he is at the moment we could only dream of some of the transfer fees we were talking about for him last season.

It is probably better for us to keep him for now and see if we can get him back to his best so he is a saleable asset at least. From his perspective he will not be doing his international prospects any good coming on for 10 mins here and there in the second tier in England.

Of course it is.

Sommerville best player in league.

James, 50 cap international, played in euope, 50 games for skum at age of 22, and scored a shed load of goals, this season.

How can he dislodge any of them two at the moment 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anthony looked better than willy (who has scored by the way) 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe by working harder in training - isn't that what it's all about? Isn't that what Bamford's done?

I really do hope Gnonto comes good for us this season but I won't be surprised if he doesn't.

Didn't think Anthony looked particularly yesterday, plenty of mitigating circumstances, recently bereaved, playing on the wrong side, short of minutes so can be excused giving the ball away at times.

If Gnonto had been available I expect that when James went off that that would be the change not JA.
