Klopp - the end of an era.

Well, it seems the Klopp era is about to come to an end.

An era of breathless football, net spend excellence and no shortage of fist pumps.

What is his legacy though? I think it'd be unfair to compare him to Pep and City (for obvious reasons) but, if we take them out of the equation, you'd expect a manager who's had an 'era' to be hot on their tail.

Here is his role of honour:

CL 2018/19
UEFA Super Cup 2019
FIFA Club World Cup 2019
PL 2019/20
FA Cup 2021/22
League Cup 2021/22

A pretty impressive three seasons in which Liverpool have won trophies including a Premier League (which I'll count even if they did change the rules during it) with a points total rarely seen.

A further inspection though gives us the data on the other trophy winning teams so I wonder who is in third? It's not United obviously with a trophy haul of 50% less than Liverpool but, surprisingly, Chelsea have done OK even in the midst of their turmoil with Conte, Tuchel, Poch, Potter etc.

PL 2016/17
FA Cup 2017/18
Europa League 2018/19
CL 20/21
UEFA Super Cup 2021
FIFA Club World Cup 2021

Trophies won over five seasons there. Surprising indeed.

Which brings me onto the main point of the article. The League Cup Final is going to be massive isn't it to see which team has been (very much) second best to the financially doped blue half of Manchester.

Let battle commence although, as it's Poch managing Chelsea (which would bookend Klopp's trophies nicely), I'd expect Liverpool to win.

In terms of best PL era I'd go:
1. Fergie
2. Klopp
3. Rafa

Pep I'm not sure I can count due to the issues with cheating the system his club are involved in. If Klopp stayed longer he'd probably go above Wenger depending on how things panned out.

The league will be a lot poorer with him out of it.

Champions League wins trump the prem.

Wenger would be 4th which is where his teams finished most seasons so it's poetic.

Moyes would be 14th because that's what he does – he wins

Didn't really do anything surprising in the Prem for me. Fourth best at a push but spent most and got his side playing awful football. His achievements at Porto and Inter were impressive though.

I really like Klopp but he’s nowhere near Wenger.

4 proper titles excluding all those pointless ones(why the fack anyone counts them is beyond me).

Houlier won four proper titles as well

Fergie is the best overall manager. Pep Guardiola is the better coach though in terms of on the training ground and tactics etc.

Klopp doesn't come near either of them. He's a good manager though and definitely Liverpool's best one for decades so can see why the vermin are so upset.
