Well, Xavi just announced he’s leaving at the end of the season. This should be interesting given how we’re looking to replace Klopp.
So, FSG better move fast to land Xabi Alonso or we could run this risk of losing him to them (assuming he’s on their shortlist of replacements).
If FSG f*ck this up….

It will be interesting to see what klopp does now. If barca come calling he might just fancy that. Theres no question barca will do everything they can to tempt him.

There's no way he'd take it for next season.

Dick Advocaat of the Netherlands has retired like 15 times. This time it was really really his last job. And then he took on another stint at Curaçao at 76. LOL Managers say whatever.

Pretty sure if Klopp thought he could still manage, he would have stayed. He's definitely at least taking a break.

You're probably right, I'd just say you never know. He gave pretty similar reasoning for leaving dortmund citing hed take a year or so out. 4 months later he was with us because the opportunity was too good to turn down.
Barcelona is 1of the biggest jobs in world football where he and his family will get to live in an amazing city. He might just decide again that its too good to turn down.

Plus Xavi is hardly selling the Barca job with his comments.

Madrid, buyern or Liverpool will be his next club if he does choose to leave his club. The abuse he would get for going to Barca just wouldn't make sense.

Why would that matter to Xabi now? He was always a driven and highly focussed pro during his playing career. Plus, he knows full well how to handle hostile environments, and is calm as a cucumber when faced with the press.
More than being cowed by the prospect of annoying a few fans, he might just think Barça isn't such a tantalising prospect right now.
That's if they did approach him. It's normally the clubs that make the move for former players - not least because it's easier to get the fans behind a new manager they have fond memories of from his playing days. The former players would be dumb not to take advantage.

Don’t think Barca fans would accept a Real Madrid legend as their next manager, especially one that is still finding his feet at the highest level of management

I think his next job after his break will be as Germany's national coach in preparation for the 2026 World Cup. Reviving their fortunes would be right down his alley.

I like Alonso a lot, but I wouldn't exactly class him as a Madrid legend.
