This month these soon to be classics all came out
Poor Things
All of us strangers
The Iron Claw
The Holdovers
Anatomy of a Fall
Never seen that many 5 star movies all released so close together. Of course it’s Oscar season so that’s why but I genuinely feel they’re all incredible, not least Poor Things which had walkouts at my cinema from people who didn’t understand what true art is. Check them all out, and All of Us Strangers should be first on the list. Utterly tragic and captivating in a similar way Aftersun was.
What a month for new movies ❗️

Napoleon was hilarious. Ridley cetainy didnt let historical facts get in his way of this yarn. The battle scenes (apart from Toulon) were pure pantomine. I even paid extra to warch imax. We were the only ones in the theatre. Hardly surprising.
Just because you have boats... LOL! c!mon Ridley

watching Napoleon rogering Josephine via the back door on IMAX was the most believable part of the Ridley Scott film.
I almost felt I was in the same room.

Robb, what did you think of Napoleon?
Thought it start really, really well and then descended in a fairly boring romance for the last hour. Kind of annoyed me a bit tbh, especially as I’m such a huge fan of Scott

I agree it started well. Had a nice fun pace to it but apart from the ice battle it was pretty boring. By the time it got to Waterloo I was begging for it to end. There’s apparently a directors cut which I might watch but probably won’t improve it that much. My go-to fun/fake historical epic will always be Troy.
