Managers

We could see a very busy summer for big clubs looking for a new manager.

Klopp will leave Liverpool.
Xavi will leave Barcelona.
ETH could get sacked by UTD.
Poch could get sacked by Chelsea.
Tuchel could get sacked by Bayern.

Could be a very interesting time.. and sadly you'd have to say us and Chelsea would be the least attractive to any incoming manager.

3 wins from 16 for De Zerbi, is he still the answer…
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not saying that De Zerbi is the answer, but given that at best after tomorrow, we could be 3 points ahead of Brighton, what does that say about ETH?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not sure what the future holds for Ten hag, but this current culture at the club has been there long before the Dutchman came in.

People wanted the players to be held accountable, now that they are people say it's too harsh.

The whole Sancho thing makes me laugh as all he said was he wasn't at the required level in training to be selected. People are making out as if Ten Hag slept with his mum.

Poch actually said the exact same thing about Madueke, but that kid actually buckled down and put the work in afterwards.

Neo said he has Brendan Rogers vibes and it’s becoming hard to disagree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t see it. He doesn’t come across as an insufferable cuuuuunt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Haha there is that. I doubt he has a painting of himself behind his desk either.

He definitely wears a Gucci belt, though.

For me a massive part of the managers role is to have a vision and to deliver that on the pitch. If some players do not fit that, or have not bought into it, then they get side-lined and moved on.

Where that vision is clear and progress is being made in delivering it, then players falling by the wayside is not an issue and they are soon forgotten.

ETHs problem is that the vision isnt clear thus not being delivered on the pitch. Players deemed not good enough for it in the summer (Maguire/McT) have become key players, others have not bought into it so are not delivering (Sancho/Rashford?).

If the vision was clear and bearing fruit then these issues would not be so large. But it isnt, so the whole approach looks like its failing and that all comes down to the manager, who is tasked with delivering his vision and doing whatever is necessary to achieve that.

I see what you're saying, but what does vision have to do when players are simply not even managing the basics.

Players getting moved on is something that is very hard to do at the club as they've given such ridiculous contracts that no one else will match. To sell players on we have to take a massive loss and the Glazers will not do that.

The hope is that Sir Jim and Ineos will change this, but time will tell if they will be able to under Glazer ownership.

Given the current state of affairs, I can see Barcelona going for Michel, the Girona manager. They already had a good season last year, what they've achieved thus far this year is bloody outrageous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn’t have Barca DNA.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Xavi was DNA-max. I think they might just be ready for a change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Laporta says hi.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More than anything else, Laporta's a populist, and it's populism that's guided all of his managerial appointments.

I'm pretty sure they constantly poll the soçis to gauge their opinions, and right now I doubt the majority demand is a Barça man looking to return to tikitaka.

I wouldn’t be so sure, Barca socios are dumb.
