Bournemouth v Forest - Match Thread

A productive transfer window, at least as much as outgoings are concerned. Post transfer deadline we look to have moved on Aurier and Worral, meaning Nuno has his 25 (kind of).

Will Hennessy be retained? Will Laryea return and Origi prove his fitness to move to the US? Hwang is injured, which only leaves the MLS as an option.

Some key signings were made. We pushed hard for a keeper, and finally got our 6th (?) preferred option in Sels. Reyna could prove to be a fantastic loan (no OTB) signing. And finally…a Portuguese wonder kid in a move which even surprised Fab.

Arsenal:

The Good: the return of Awoniyi and Elanga.

The Bad: more mistakes undoing our good work.

The Ugly: Turner…yet again gifts the opposition a goal.

Special Mention: Mangala. He was our best midfielder before Cooper left. Let’s hope he does well at his new club.

The Last Time we played (Bournemouth (H) - a 3-2 loss - Boly’s ridiculous sending off ruined our chances. Elanga and Wood with our goals.

Turner

Williams Murillo Boly Toffolo

Mangala Yates

Origi MGW Elanga

Wood

Proposed Lineup:

Sels

Montiel Omobamidele Murillo Tavares

Danilo Yates

MGW

CHO Wood Dominguez

Subs:

Turner, Niakhate, Toffolo, Williams, Kouyate, Elanga, Reyna, Ribeiro, Awoniyi

Injuries:

Origi, possibly Wood.

Laughing @ Derby:

Not many left now!

Form:

Bournemouth (H) - W3 D1 L2 GF10 GA9 - 13th (12th in the Home Form table)
Forest (A) - W1 D1 L4 GF8 GA16 - 17th (14th in the Away Form table)

Prediction:

A lot of positives with our returning players, but not sure they’ll start. We also have an extra two days rest and a decent game-changing bench for this one.

We owe them a 3-2 Forest win and some VAR justice. A win would put us 4 points clear of Everton and some much needed confidence following some mixed performances.

Final Words:

COYRs!!!!

Absolutely NO quality on any of our balls into the box, it’s been too easy for Muff, Neto has hardly made a save, but neither has Seles. Pretty poor game all round.

So very poor in the final third of the field.
We have even conceded a corner with 90 seconds to play, poor game management.

Would have taken a draw at 2 o’clock but we deserved all three I think.

We look more mad more like a doomed team every week. Even without a points deduction i doubt we’ll stay up. The team doesn’t seem any better under Nuno than it did under Cooper. Championship is starting to look like a real possibility.

Sorry Red, but i have to disagree, i don’t think we did anywhere near enough to win the game, but we also didn’t deserve to lose it either.
Two very poor teams played out a very poor game of football.

Sorry mate, I don’t agree with that. I think we were the better team today even with 111 v 11. Ball into the box was either non-existent or poor to be fair. However, we are in far more games now than we used to be. It’s literally just about the stupid goals we concede. I think we generally look more dangerous going forward and we have much more possession. If we stop leaking goals we can be a decent team.

Some good points Red, especially the conceding soft goals, but I just don’t see us finishing enough chances to win the important games. One win from 9 against the bottom teams, and most of them were at home.
We may stay up by default, depending on the outcome of the hearing against us, but it’s going to be close.
Luton this season remind me of us last season. Perhaps we need to copy some of what they are doing.
Neither keeper made a save of any note today, tells you a lot about the game.
Hope your right and I’m wrong, but fully respect your comments.

I’m going on the RN commentary which could have been a bit rose tinted. But it sounded like we played a lot in there half just didn’t have a cutting edge. Could have done with another striker to bring on. Is Ribera a striker or winger/wide AM?
