I'm guessing it will be 20 minutes of Simon Jordan kissing Levy's backside.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really. Says he used to detest him but that he’s grown on him over the years. As a businessman and former club owner himself it’s inevitable that Jordan is gonna admire the job Levy has done at Spurs, business wise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whereas Souness as a "fan" described him as a failure.
Think we all know Levy is a decent business man but a poor football man.
His failings are not as bad as many make out and his attributes only go so far towards bringing the club success.
I think we are increasingly seeing that clubs have to be financially strong and well run, within prescribed budgets, to deliver progress and success on the pitch and finally we seem to be well placed to take real strides forward.
I think most can sense now the slight withdrawal of Levy from our day to day running, a bigger better, well-sourced team now starting deliver in our recruitment and on the pitch. Long may it continue!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's starting to look that way and with the new stadium and the revenue from that, you'd expect only good things, at least in the near future. But you can never rule out Levy getting too involved and making a hash of things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly this. Don’t forget we got to a champions league final and then a chain of utterly disastrous decisions, mainly from Daniel levy, led us to the mess of last season.
I’m optimistic about spurs, but also entirely sceptical that it won’t all fall like a house of cards again.
Can levy learn from his many mistakes and actually build from a position of strength rather than level out and be satisfied with fourth?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the constant worry, and justifiably.
The only thing about 2019 onwards that i would say is that our declined stemmed from the lack of transfers in 2018/19, leading to a team that largely imploded in February. The UCL papered over cracks but our league formed sucked and it continued into 19/20, despite some big spending.
That season of no transfers came out of the Stadium situation. We were very limited on how much we could spend and if you believe reports, Poch was more willing to "save" his summer budget and go big next time, when the stadium was open and money pouring in.
It was such bad timing and I don't think the money was there to refresh the squad in the way needed.
Everything stemmed from that really, but the decisions that followed were failures.
Levy while being less involved, will still be the man pulling the trigger if Ange starts to fail !

Some spurs fans on here think Souness hattes Spurs. Pretty sure i remember him saying he was a childhood fan n still has a soft spot for them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
him and Keane both hate spurs more than anyone which just shows they are spurs fans
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Souness is a former Spurs player, never mind fan, so of course he has a soft spot for them.

I guess we will never know the exact ins and outs of that time. I’m sure there was more than just one man making many terrible decisions. However the fall from grace was absolutely huge. We really should have cracked on like Liverpool did but we went in the complete opposite direction. As I say, have they learned from their mistakes and more importantly do they actually have the desire and ambition to take the next step and make us a title winner?

If you add Lockdown because of COVID more or less as soon as the stadium opened with no attendance allowed for that season, it was the worst thing that could have ever happened.
If it never happened no one would believe the timing of it!
I can't imagine how badly that affected the club with signings, how much further along we may have been by now.
But it looks like the long term plans and forecast of financial strength is finally being realised?

With just £95m spent in the Jan window, it is a sign of a slow down in spending that can only help us.
We have very strong revenues now.
We have a wage budget under control and the lowest % of revenue in the league
And we have FFP headroom to spend more if we wanted to.
But is has always been the case of how it's spent! The £120m spent on Sess, NDomb & GLC has yielded very little. The same sum spent on Udogie, VDV, Maddison & Sarr has set us up for years.

Christ! What an unbearable listen. 2 minutes of vaguely interesting stuff about Levy and then it fell off a feckin cliff. Two people with zero chemistry vomiting nonsense for 20 minutes but there were some gold nuggets in there. The whole “are you into music, Graeme?” was some of the most awkward but unintentionally brilliant stuff I’ve ever heard. “Not really, no!” was a real humdinger of a response. Then it got even better when he said “maybe the best of the Rolling Stones” 😂 That was true Partridge stuff.
I don’t think we learned anything about Levy but we did learn that overall Simon Jordan is every bit the toxic cvnt we always thought he was and Graeme Souness hates sound of any kind. Very weird all in all.
