I am. We are playing with more belief, Hojlund is scoring, we've got our supersub. Of course injuries could knock us back again'
But looking at the games to come, apart from the three obvious ones I don't see anything too scary. We are developing a winning mentality.
32/33 points seems very possible, which gets us over the 70 mark.
This should get us top four. We have to keep beating those below us, and the odd draw against the real toughie. If Licha only misses two or three games I really fancy us to do it.
We even win some away games now!
So come on United, never beaten.
Optimistic?

Well, that's one five-star, right?

Someone always one-stars these articles.
I give five to balance it out.

Doesn't work like that. That's like having 4 chances at 0.2 xG and saying we should score the next 0.2 xG chance cos that would make it up to 1. There is still a 20% chance of scoring that chance, chances don't have memories. So unfortunately my 1 star for MU52 doesn't help him towards achieving a 5 star rating

I'm more optimistic about off-field matters than I am on-field at the moment.
On the pitch I think we're in a similar situation to what we were under Ole in that we're overperforming in terms of results and it's unsustainable based on the level of our performances over 90 minutes.

The performances still aren’t great for 90 mins but we are having more good spells.
Mainoo has made a difference is already one of our most important players.
I know Dalot and McTominay did brilliantly for the winner yesterday but Mainoo did so well to get that ball to Dalot in a position that pretty much the rest of team would have lost possession in.

Exactly, it's the same tossing a coin, if it comes down head's five times on the run people are convinced tails is next. But the coin doesn't have a memory, so it's still evens.
So now I've been nice to you, you can go back and change it to a five n'est pas.

I’d be optimistic if we can keep a settled side between now and the end of the season.

We're winning games now, which is great. The attack seems to be ab it more in sync. However, there is a clear issue with the way we play. Even yesterday there were large spells where Villa were much better than us on the ball and cutting through us.
We rely too much on play from the back. ETH wants the back 5 to hold the ball and start the attack, which doesn't work well when Martinez is missing along with his urgency and passing range. It makes us predictable and slow in build-up at times, our CBs have more of the ball than our midfield does. Also, Casemiro and Mainoo work well together, but we're still easy to get through at times. We will drop more points than OP suggests.

Haven’t read the whole thread but I’m not optimistic.
There were times yesterday where we looked so poor. Onana is supposed to be good on the ball. He’s clearly not.
The amount of times we give the ball away is frightening.
