I didn;t know about the 3 year thing - but if players are out on loan, with option to buy, surely thats better than just ending their contracts? - if not why not?, and what would have been the best thing to do in that situation?
if Aaronson is out on loan tho, who is paying his wages? us still?, if not surely thats not an expense?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aaronson is costing us £5m a year not counting any wages that we might still be paying, that is the £25m spread over the 5 year deal. So, this summer he is 2 years into that deal...if we sold him at that point for £15m we would break even in FFP terms, but it doesn't mean we have that £15m in the bank for new players.

Don't know where he now lives, but he's still about!..

To answer the original post, I feel all emotional after watching that video, thanks for posting Germany.
Like Maid, Becks is one of my heroes, love the guy.

Think it's only really Aaronson that we are looking at a loss for really. Llorente has been with us for 4 years so even if we sell for like 5mil will have us break even. Reckon we can get at least 20mil for Harrison. Roca we signed for 12m. Should be able to get 10mil particularly as he is having a decent season. Kristianson was about 10 mil. We'll struggle to get rid of him but it won't be a massive loss

played for us for 5 minutes, left us on a free to Everton,
——-
3 seasons he played for us and even without including the reported contract offer from Bates at the same wage, not sure anyone could begrudge him leaving to go to the PL when he was playing non league only a few seasons before. He scored 10 PL goals for Everton in one season if I remember correctly, he was much better than league one but still gave 3 quality seasons there, could have easily left before if he wanted

Very happy with this season to date. Predicted playoffs given the messy close season and didnt think we would be anywhere near autos. We are in with a good chance of the top-2 but if we do fail to go up it will be mainly due to the loan contracts - completely disrupted the entire close season and beyond. 6 points from the first 5 games. Take those 5 games out and we are 3 points behind Leicester City.
I don't think anyone outside of the club knows exactly what the position is next close season in terms of the loan contracts. Seen reports suggesting some clauses ran out and the player will be back at Leeds or sold regardless of which division we are in . Seen some reports suggesting the players can go back out on loan again if we fail to go up. The latter is financially crippling. Are we in safe hands? Time will tell. Radz appeared to suggest on late night twitter Kinnear's hands were all over the contracts and he is still here earning 568k a year. Marathe certainly does not appear innocent given his contract king boasts. Talk of upgrading the stadium is promising but at present its talk.
Greenwood stick by previous comments. We agreed a £1.5m price for a player that may prove to be worth more. No complaints had we sold him for £1.5m last close season but sending him out on loan could be egg on face time particularly given he was played out of position for the last year at Leeds.
Beckford? A shining light in years of darkness. Would you believe the 12th highest all-time goalscorer for Leeds United. One could argue goals were scored against poorer opposition at a lower level than players below him like Eddie Gray, Lee Chapman, Mark Viduka, Albert Johanneson and Rod Wallace. Doing the Leeds salute to the kop whilst playing for the opposition at Elland Road tells you where his heart is.

I can understand the hostility to the players who left us, but with the exception of Sini, we ought to acknowledge that those players acted within their rights.
Secondly, like most of our players last season, we probably did not see the best of them, because we were cr@p.
Thirdly, we don't know what the players themselves want to do, but I bet some of them will be looking at us now, wishing they were still here.
Finally, Farke will decide if it is worth re-integrating them into the squad and, if so, how he would do that.
We have seen the amazing turnaround in the performances of those who have stayed - Rutter, Gnonto, Bamford, DJ, Mes, and Firpo all coming good. I am sure Farke could get a lot more out of the players we have loaned out than Jesse ever did! As fans, we are showing our appreciation of the players who stayed and we have welcomed them back into the fold. If Farke opens the doors to some of the wantaways, I am happy to welcome them back on board.

Would Farke have got a tune out of some of those players, pretty sure the likes of Roca, Wober and possibly even Aaronson would have looked much better under him than under the woeful combination of Marsch and Gracia.

I didn't know better Spanish I'd say you're being deliberately controversial to gain a reaction because as far as I am concerned it's almost sacrilege to slag off Beckford, a WUM wouldn't even dare go down that path mate so I respectfully ask you... "Are you alright?"

ooh as if I would

… what a waste of time coming on a site where its pretty much anonymous, and designed to give your own opinion

Sadly, this site doesn’t encourage users to post like that. There are a small number of aggressive posters, and you’re one of them I’m afraid, who do everything they can to shut down debate by belittling any opinions that don’t agree with their own.
