He’s NOT magic you know…

“I’m not a magician. I’m a football manager, we’re trying to be the best we can and progress this year to build something. That doesn’t change, we keep going"

Ange Postecoglou on today’s disappointing defeat.

I’m really confused about this result. I was told that when the likes of Bissouma, Maddison, Van Der Ven and Son came back, Spurs would challenge for the title.

I'm confused as well. I think it's fair to say that we were playing better at the start of the season....you only have to look at our form then. We may have rode some luck like in the Liverpool game and conceded good chances to opposition too, but we generally played very well and you felt like there was more of a buzz and belief around the team. I don't know, we just seem to be playing within ourselves currently. Also the missing first team full backs today didn't help. I thought we'd manage to get by but they were missed.

I think today shows how valuable Porro and Udogie are to Ange’s system.
Plus Davies should’ve scored in the dying minutes. Crest la vie🤔

Early season form seems a bit misleading

Well yes, it was never going to last, even if we didn’t have the Chelsea debacle.

Still something to fight for though. Keeps it interesting.

Quite right, a professional player should at least put that header on target.
But, truth to tell, Aussieglue lost this match for us.
His ridiculously high line against a counter attacking team, gave them their second goal.
Everyone on Spurs side were up field, .....no defence.....all wolves did was boot the ball downfield and run after it.
Truth is we have a one trick manager. Does he ever think of defending? ......

Exactly Ted. Wolves totally had us sussed.

Well now,...is he even a football manager?
And if "we keep going"... his way,...we'll keep losing to teams like Wolves that we should beat.

You just cannot keep playing a high line with all your defenders up field, and players like Emerson and Davies in your back four, at minute 70 and score at 1-1, and expect to come out of it with points.

Any "manager" in that situation against a team that is parking the bus and hoping for a counter attack, would be more defensive.

I think Aussieglue has done the Spurs squad a lot of good, but he really does seem to be a one trick pony, and other managers have learnt how to play him.
We lost this match to a better manager.
Hopefully, something does change......Aussieglue learns how to change tactics in mid-match!

He didn't even put Draguisin on the field?
Why on earth did we buy this player?
And what did we promise him that he came here in preference to Bayern Munich?
I just don't get it.
The man can play midfield or RB.
If ever there was a match where we needed something solid at the back, or in the defensive middle, it was this one.

Clear indication that we should ensure we have quality backups for FB going forward...They are the ones that make the Ange ball tick!
