I think if the goals continue it’s a fair statement to make.
RVP declined as soon as SAF left.
Rooney was already on the slide before SAF left.
Falcao was a disaster.
Martial had a few good seasons and in 19/20 is arguably as good a CF we have had post SAF but he could never keep it up.
Zlatan scored goals but the rest of his game was in decline when he joined us and by the time he got that injury he was actually playing pretty poorly.
Lukaku started off like a house on fire but after his 1st 10 games his strike rate became modest and his all round game and touch was not good enough.
Rashford played regularly there for a while but again doesn’t have the game for it.
Cavani had a good run for a while. His work rate and movement was amazing but again his all round game was lacking a bit. Good instinct player but always felt he struggled when he had too much time to think.
Ronaldo scored goals but his all round game was poor.
I think Hojlund’s all round game is probably better than any of those except arguably Martial. His touch and hold up play is very good. He is quick and can beat a man although we don’t see it that much. His passing is also pretty good.
If he goals continue and this is more than a hot streak maybe we have finally found the answer there.
Now to fill 6 or 7 more positions
Hojlund -best all round CF in post SAF era?

In the past 6 games, perhaps.
Hojlund is nowhere near a prime Zlatan, Rooney or Ronaldo though, not even Cavani at the moment if we're honest.
Let's hope his form continues and perhaps in 24 months time we can compare to these legends of the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think that OP is comparing Hojlund to any of those players in their prime. He is talking about the version of those players that we had after SAF retired.
You can make a case that Hojlund gives us more/more of what we need from our strikers than any of those did. But only taking into account the last few weeks really in view of the lack of league goals earlier in the season. That said, he has been pretty clinical in front of goal. If he had had better service earlier in the reason, he'd have more goals which would add more weight to the argument.
I would still have Zlatan above him though. And probably Martial for the 1 season he played up top consistently.

I never said that. All of those were past their prime in the post SAF era.

And yes, of course my "poor man's Richarlison" comment was tongue-in-cheek
..........................
No it wasn't. You spent all day yesterday trying to defend it.
Just own your own stupidity. It isn't like there is anyone left on here that does not know you are a poor mans moregreaves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What i was defending, which is clearly escaped your simple mind, is that a claim like "best all round striker in a decade" is a baseless as claiming he's a poor-man's Richarlison. Both are opinions based on very little quantitative evidence given how little he's played.
As said above, you could make a case for both and actually whether you want to look at Richi's start to his PL career or his current season, the stats are pretty comparable, as are many of their attributes.
The point being that the lad has a lot of development to do and he may well turn out to be a WC striker or he may just be the next Richarlison. SO far he hasn't stood out massively. Kane's first full PL season he scored 21 goals in 34 PL games, 31 in all comps, so RH is nowhere near that level in his first season.
My comment clearly triggered you and you challenged it, i explained the comparisons. You werent triggered by the statement that the kid is the best all round Utd striker in a decade, which i think is a silly comment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kane was playing in a team that actually created him chances. Until recent weeks, United haven't been doing that. Earlier in the thread you mentioned that neither Hojlund or Richarlison are good finishers.
In the PL Kane averages a goal every 5.53 shots.
Richarlison averages a goal every 8.54 shots.
Hojlund averages a goal every 4.14 shots.
I appreciate that with Hojlund its a fairly small sample size. But you don't seem to have a clue what you are talking about. Just waffling nonsense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
TBF this is the sort of analysis that one would expect in response to my comment and much of it is fair, including your reasonable caveat that RH is a small sample size.
One could also add that according to the PL he has created zero big chances and 2 assists.
This doesnt support the "all round" striker assessment. Compare that to Richi this season and his stats are again, slightly better. This is about "all round" not just goals.
I think i do have a clue what im talking about. Just because you don't like the comparison, but the stats at least support it.
IMO the kid looks like he has real potential to exceed Richarlison's output, but there aint much certainty about it. Your very own Anthony Martial is evidence of that

How do the stats support your assessment that he isn't a natural finisher when they show that he has a better conversion rate than Kane? It's only very marginally worse than Haaland's, who could very well go down as the greatest No.9 we've ever seen.
And i have no idea what creating a big chance consists of. But I do know that he played a nice one-two against your own team to assist for Rashford, having already been involved in the build-up play. He is starting to gel with the other attacking players and as the understanding improves, I am sure that he will contribute more in our build up play.

Oh FFS.
The number of injuries we pick up is ridiculous.
So likely to miss Fulham, Forest, City and Everton games?

a natural finisher will usually get a goal or 2 before Christmas. He made some poor misses, admittedly his chances were not that plentiful, but since he's got going he's hit a hot patch. But to the eye, he's not in the bracket of Kane or RVN or Rooney or Ole in terms of natural finishing, but he's still pretty good

Regarding the Bayern thread that I can't comment on.
This Dylan guy really gets it. Kane will be remembered as a Le Tissier or a Steve Bull with a speech impediment.
"He could’ve been the greatest player spurs ever had"
A bit like Jamie Vardy without the trophies?
There is nothing more destructive than players playing for personal accollades at the expense of the team, which Flatrack has done all his career. Unless England get rid and start someone else we will never win anything, other than the Kane "golden pen".
Spurs are having their most successful season in recent history now he's gone.

I didn’t have you down as a wum?
