Excuses, excuses

Here's a few of the best:
1) We have to play at crazy times for every game because of Sky's scheduling
2) We had a heap of travelling in February for all those away games
3) Our players are tired
4) Our players are carrying knocks and are playing through them
5) These are the worst referees ever to officiate our football games
6) We have had at least 12 clear penalties denied to us this season
7) We are everybody's cup final
8) Summerville/Gnonto/Rutter get lumps kicked out of them every week
9) Ipswich are the luckiest team ever, always get the late goal
10) Just our luck to be in the tightest Championship battle for years
Actually, we are on a really good run with a coach and players who are working hard to win promotion. After the drama of the Bridge, perhaps some players thought yesterday's game would be a stroll, but we have had the wake-up call. We will be playing more games against teams like Huddersfield, starting with Stoke on Tuesday, so let's wake up and smell the Bovril. We're in the Championship, not the Champions League.

Here’s one for ya:

The ball was only in play for 22 minutes and 33 seconds in the first half, not surprisingly the lowest in the first half of any of Leeds United's Championship matches this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

22 minutes is shocking. The lowest in the Premier league last season was 43 minutes in a Newcastle game and that kicked up a fuss.

Said to dad whilst watching it that it felt very stop start, had no idea just how bad.

No team is going to win every game until the end of the season. We may get other games like this

Jeez, as if I don't know before I logged on

No excuses needed, was an away point following a brilliant run of league wins, it happens.

said so many times the top four will all have poor results in the run in.

we know if we keep winning we won't have a problem.

this is why I've never bought this 'must win' thing, certainly not in Nov, Dec, because nobody can fully predict other results.

We're well placed, we've a good squad and a good manager. keep it together and we'll be promoted.

Only one reason Leeds won’t go up and that’s the loan contracts. It was like starting the season with a points deficit.

I see Leicester City are in trouble with breaching the FFP rules last season taking them way over the allowed amount of losses and are almost certain to get a points deduction like Everton. Whether that's this season the points deduction happens which I don't see why it
shouldn't we will see but if they get at least 6 points
knocked off them then we are a point above them in 2nd
and 2 points behind Ipswich.

It's a funny old game, twists and turns but for all Leeds's chaos at the beginning of this season our owners have kept the club on the right side of these FFP rules which may in the end be a crucial reason we secure automatic promotion this season.

Excatly 👍

Squad is best in league,

Have to disagree with you, Kebab, and quite a few posters who think our players are better than most others in this league.
Like any players, they are great on their day, but at the moment, for example, we are seeing Cree struggle for form. We see Georgi, Piroe and Bamford failing to hit the target from good positions.
We also know there are opposition teams can manage our pacy front line, and while we have plenty of skillful players, we are not as efficient in front of goal as we should be.
I was impressed by Huddersfield's set pieces at the weekend. Why do we not have players who can strike the ball with a little whip and depth? If you look at our set pieces, we are 4 - 5 goals behind our competitors:

The notion of 'best squad' does not always equate with 'best team on the day'. I'm not even sure if it is helpful to label our players as 'best squad'.
Far too often, we have carried that label and fallen at crucial moments. History does not need to repeat itself.

FFP rules are killing the game, they should just make it a simple salary cap, franchise the clubs so that any debt is the owners and not the clubs. Just hope we haven't fallen foul to FFP...it's got to be tight.

100% and I have made a similar point regarding when the lateJack Walker bankrolled his beloved Blackburn who upset the applecart at the time and won the EPL in 1995 which I think today he would not have been able to do with these restrictions that we all can see are just designed to keep the big rich clubs continually
at the top.

I hope there is a legal challenge by an ultra rich tycoon who owns a club outside this current cabal
whereby like you say if it's the owners money that they want to spend billions on say Accrington Stanley
then that should be their legal right and any restiction imposed on that legal right to be free to spend their own money on their football club must be a restiction of trade I'd have thought.

Watching Shef. Utd get another tonking currently 5 nil down at home after 39 minutes and their fans sick of these tyoes of thrashings walkiing out proves the EPL is just not a level playing field and it's been a waste of time them getting promoted as they are clearly going to be relegated with less than 24 points like Burnley and possibly Luton unless another hefty points deduction to Everton and Forest helps them stay up.

Will we be like Shef Utd and Burnley next season if we are promoted and just fodder for three quarters of the EPL??? I certainly hope not but wouldn't be surprised either.

Can I add to your analysis how many goals do we score from the bench, we simply do not have the depth to change the outcome of games.

And I ask a couple of questions, why doesn't Farke trust his bench to the extent that he will make changes earlier in the game and when players are clearly struggling for form like Summerville why doesn't he rest them completely.
I don't think we are the best squad, second or maybe even third.

Agree with you Heart & Dennis.

We have several of the very best players in this
division in our squad, for sure. Second or third
best squad overall.

Shows what an amazing job McKenna's doing
with the squad he has available.
