So, after yet another frustrating draw at Brentford, I too am starting to believe that there is no fix to our problems. With each match, there seems to be another negative and seemingly no answer to our plight. But where do our problems lie?
PLAYERS: The biggest problem we have is that this squad is not as good as the other squads we had a couple of years back. Yes, there is a lot of talent but these players do not pass the "oven ready" check. Rudiger is better than the defenders we have at the moment, Kante is better than Caicedo and so on. It's all well and good forking out a fortune on players, but if they are not good enough, we have a problem. That's not to say that many of these players will not develop, Disasi, Gusto, Enzo, Nkuku ... all have potential.
CLEARLAKE: Obviously, the new owners have a vision that is not coming to fruition at these moments. They have sold a vastly experienced squad and replaced them with lesser players (with potential). They have basically sold off the family silver and we are in dire straits economically now. They inherited a squad which needed a little cosmetic surgery and chose a path which few can rationalise.
THE COACH: I have been careful not to criticise Poch, but he obviously doesn't have the personal skills to get the best out of our limited squad. I don't blame him completely, he can only work with what he's got, but he obviously can't get a tune out of his players.
The system(s) that he plays leaves us far too open and we don't have the players to keep possession when we're under pressure and sustain attacks when we are on top.
In my opinion, with an experienced midfielder and decent striker, we have a chance, at least a chance of competing. But you can't spend a billion pounds and let better players go and not buy a striker - it's incomprehensible. These are successful business people - I just don't understand it.
Our problems

I think you summed it up, they are successful business people - not successful football people.
When they bought the club they removed a lot of the football people behind the scenes - and didn’t replace them adequately. Years of know how in the most competitive league in the world, gone overnight. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.
They got rid of Tuchel and brought in Wizard, got rid of Wizard and brought in Poch - would be hilarious if they got rid of Poch now, just who would they turn to?
