Yeah but Freddie had the bad AIDS that you get from promiscuity, Fowler was straight - if I remember rightly I think he got his AIDS from sitting on a public toilet seat back when you could still catch it that way. Not ideal but treatable.

Boxing just came off arguably one of its best years in ages last year and there are still lots of decent fights happening - Bivol vs Beterbiev, Fury vs Usyk (we hope). Tomorrow is a very good card.

Just ignore some of the fluff that goes on with the YT boxers. I don't see why this rubbish has to be seen as destroying the whole of the sport while there is good going on too with certain big fights and Saudi money creating some great cards.

No don’t be daft. It was a worse strain if you caught it by sticking the old John Thomas places where it shouldn’t go, like Freddie, but with Mark Fowlers character they wanted to educate the public and show that straight people could get it too - I think in the storyline Fowler caught his AIDS by sitting on a public toilet seat which was a common way of catching it back then, but he lived about 15 years as it wasn’t as strong a dose.

They wouldn’t even bother doing a storyline about it nowadays now that they’ve found a cure and people don’t need to protect anymore, would be pointless.

It's always been flawed, but been particularly rubbish in every sense for a long time now, it's all rigged for entertainment and to pull in as much money as possible rather than a genuine competition. It's more like a half way point between WWE and a real sport at the very top level.

Not sure what the answer is, in reality punching each other in the head repeatedly is just a bit feckin stupid. Obviously a select few make huge money and by some miracle walk away relatively unscathed. The amateur fighting scene is better but still you can't get away from the fact it's mostly a loads of bloke slowly (or quickly) giving each other brain damage for money/fame/glory etc.

Throw in the referees rigging outcomes, lack of genuine competition and the cringeworthy pre fight nonsense, it's just a bit rubbish really.
