Yeah, we were pretty poor overall again yesterday. Thought we started off fine offensively, and the exact opposite defensively. Kuhn had a decent game-created some good chances with his crosses and passing-he was probably helped by the fact that the Livingston left back was poor when he couldn’t use his strength against Kuhn. Maeda did well to get his hat trick, but he’s still not a winger. He was good closing players down as well. Idah was an empty jersey.
Iwata got better as the game went on, but some of his passing early on was of the hospital ball variety. Bernardo started decent enough and then just disappeared. O’Riley looks like he needs a break. Really poor for the second goal we lost.
Thought AJ was at fault in part for the first goal, but that’s on Welsh having seen a replay. He’s just not got it. I’ll credit him for playing on with an injury for most of the game. He pushed us forward a fair bit in the second half, but his stats for results and goals conceded when he plays must be pretty poor. Scales looks like a guy who’s never had to play a full season at a higher level and it’s showing quite bad now. Taylor at least always looks for the ball and is involved. Played a couple of good passes for Maeda to run onto to let him then shank it out of play or hit a Livi player with his final ball.
Didn’t think we would lose yesterday strangely-think that was more about how poor Livingston are though. Martindale has ran his course with them.
Only seen a couple of the rangers incidents on Twitter-the straight red is a mental challenge. Not sure it’s a red, but if you’re going to jump into a tackle like that then you’re always going to leave it open to interpretation. The second yellow for the other boy to get sent off is a bit meh as well, but you’re always running a risk when you do that.
The teams left so far must be desperate to get Celtic in the semi final right now though.

Ah don’t listen to them. They don’t know what they’re talking about. Celtic are brilliant and put on another dazzling display yesterday.

Obita was begging for that second yellow, should have been given his marching orders for pushing an injured player of the pitch multiple times.
The straight red im convinced the hibs player is trying to do Lundstrum there, he doesnt make proper contact but he no control over that tackle absolute $hitebag of a tackle.

Can’t believe Stewart or anyone saying that’s not a red. A clear red these days, two feet off the ground when he flew in and wasn’t on control. A good challenge twenty years ago maybe, but when all pundits including Lennon say it’s a red then you know there’s no real argument.
Pen is a clear pen.
The second yellow, possibly soft but got no intent for ball.

The boy Obitas treatment of McCausland was particularly poor and the ref should have taken action at that point.
He was clearly toiling and a sub certainly wouldnt want to be subbed unless he was genuinely injured. Yet that tool Obita seemed to think he was time wasting and repeatedly tried to push him off the park.
Hibs were clearly wound up for the game. Their season depended on it and clearly saw a very tired and injury ridden Rangers team as potential for a hampden semi.
When it wasnt working out for them one or two of them clearly lost the plot.

anyone who thinks that 2nd red isnt a straight red doesnt know the game IMO.
Id Say Obita's 2nd yellow (the one he actually got) is more contentious than the straight red.

I think the second yellow is clear as day aswell.
Matondo tries to go down the outside and Obita blocks him without even looking where the ball is. Matondo then goes inside and Obita turns the other way and swings his arm out to block him.
He is deliberately impeding the player without any regard for where the ball is and its a deffo second yellow imo.
I did think Roofes yellow was very soft. First tackle and aye it was a foul - but a yellow? really?

not saying I didnt think it wasnt a yellow just that it was more contentious than the red which is clear and obvious all day to me.
Yeah the ref was going through a wee phase of booking anyone then cos the game was getting a bit edgy. dont agree with it but you can understand the ref trying to take the sting out the game and gain some control.

There is additional context for the second yellow, player was on final warning after previous incidents.
