DPL v Colchester United

This match is one I would normally attend being the closest to where I live, but as it is midweek and a 7:30 KO I’ll watch it at home. The last time I went, we lost 3-0 and I thought I was going to get a parking fine because of trouble trying to install the parking app with hands frozen and no alternative cash option. But my letter of complaint/mitigation seemed to forestall a Penalty Charge Notice.

It was an archetypal Schofield display, elaborately ineffectual, in a game which was won with 3 goals that were hardly the result of either superior play or hard work from the opposition. No more of “them moments" now though.

So better times are with us and what we are seeing currently is far more satisfying.

And there I will postpone further comment because it looks likely that the game is in peril because both the Us last home match and their mid February fixture had to be postponed because their pitch was waterlogged and it been raining down here since last night with more on the way tonight, tomorrow and Tuesday.

Pitch inspection 08:00 tomorrow. It’s been very wet down here and more rain is expected, so game probably off.

So the match is postponed as I feared.
