Co Efficient watch

Big night for this tonight as England have 4 teams playing. As things stand were nearly a full point behind Germany, however we have the most teams left and the 3 favourites for each competition - City, Liverpool and Villa, so we’re in a pretty good position.

West Ham vs Freiburg
This is the biggest one today with regards to this as it is England vs Germany for the second spot. Bayern and Dortmund are through, Leverkusen are strong favourites at home Qarabag, if 4 German sides go through it will turn this back into a coin flip. West Ham lost the first leg 1-0 but will surely be confident they can overturn that at home having already beaten Freiburg twice in the group stage.

Brighton vs Roma
Brighton are out, they lost the first leg 4-0. If Brighton can win the home tie though then that will give us 2 points

Liverpool vs Prague
Liverpool are through, they won the away leg 5-1. Again if Liverpool can win the home tie then that will give us 2 points

Villa vs Ajax
The first leg was 0-0, so it’s still in the balance. We really need Villa to progress as Germany have no representatives left in the Conference league and beyond Ajax the rest of the sides are more or less woeful. Win tonight and no one should stop Villa making the final.

Other games that could help

Italy are a couple of points ahead currently in first place, but with Inter out last night they are down to 4 sides in Europe so could still be got at. Roma I’ve touched upon already, the other 3:

Atalanta vs Sporting
1-1 in the first leg, real coin flip of a game

Prague vs Milan
Milan won the first leg 4-2 and are favourites to progress, but they got a little sloppy in the home leg so it’s not done and dusted just yet

Fiorentina vs Maccabi Haifa
Fiorentina won the away leg 4-3 and will fancy their chances to finish the tie at home.

Finally, I’ve seen if Spurs do qualify for the CL then our own Co efficient points mean we would be in pot 3 next year as things stand

I don’t think people aren’t happy about getting into the champions league, more against the fact that for many years coming fourth and qualifying has been seen as some sort of trophy and the height of our ambition.

Personally I’d rather win an fa cup than come fourth and play a few games in the champions league. I get that it’s all about money, but I find that sad. I don’t see coming fourth listed on the clubs honours list anywhere.

Englands chances of getting a Co efficient place dropped from 82% to 70% after the draw. Analysis thinks Bayern and Leverkusen advance, Dortmund out. City get a coin flip, Liverpool progress and Villa are slight favourites.

I don’t get any fan who doesn’t desperately want us back in the Champions League, it’s the Crème de la menthe and has raised the clubs profile considerably in the last decade.

If we miss out I will be gutted but get over it. If we miss Europe altogether (Somehow) then I will be distraught, it’s been so boring at times this season waiting around for our next game whilst others get to play constantly - can’t have another year like that

If CL football is Crème de la menthe, Ange’s football can be the baileys. We could have ourselves a choc pop. Used to love a good choc pop.

Seriously i don’t get the fawning for CL. If we get it, great. If not, it’s not big deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s absolutely a big deal, and anyone who thinks it isn’t has no business being at our club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂😂 the irony
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So showing that we’ve reached a certain level, the players gaining experience of playing at that level (and learning to cope with two games a week) the financial benefits and the excitement and enjoyment of the fans.

Which of these are not important to us or our club exactly?

You are stressing way too much about it. What will be will be. CL would be great but lets be honest we ain't winning it even if we do qualify.

Worrying about Liverpool, Woolwich and co and the potential scenerios which could unfold, I mean flipping hell. Who gives a funk?

I've never seen a section of a fanbase stress about something nothing to do with Spurs directly, in terms of caring about other results and something which is totally out of anyone's control.

Seriously, it's abit crazy....

You’re content with mediocrity, that’s your problem, and you're clearly not the only one.

I’ll never understand this mentality.

We’re not going to win the league, so should we not bother with that either?

No I am a realist. Year one, new manager, new system, new players and we lost Kane.

Currently Ange is over achieving in league.

You're problem is you think you are entitled to success, even though history shows we are bottle jobs. Stay humble.

Right now I don't care where we finish. I'm only thinking about beating Fulham.

Trying to look into a crystal ball worrying about co efficients and the different permutations is crazy.

You end up saying daft chit like 'I will be supporting the enemy' like Fridge 🤦🏻‍♂️.

I’ve said I don’t care about all the coefficients stuff and that Spurs should concentrate on finishing fourth.
