A form based approach to our survival chances…

Last Six: Points Gained / Average Position of Teams Played

Luton - 1 point - 11th
Forest - 4 points - 7th
Everton - 3 points - 7th
Brentford - 4 points - 7th
Palace - 5 points - 12th

Last Ten: Points Gained / Average Position of Teams Played

Luton - 6 points - 10th
Forest - 10 points - 7th
Everton - 5 points - 7th
Brentford - 7 points - 7th
Palace - 11 points - 13th

Takeaways:

1. Forest and Palace had the best form.
2. Forest, Everton and Brentford equally had a tough run of games.
3. Palace had the easiest run of games, Luton had the second easiest run of games.

Next ten applied to current table (based on last 10 games form):

Palace - 40 points
Forest - 34 points
Brentford - 32 points
Everton - 30 points
Luton - 27 points

Next ten (factor applied):

* Plus 50% points for Forest, Brentford and Everton (easier run of games over next ten).

**Minus 50% points for Luton and Palace (harder run of games over next ten).

Forest - 39 points
Brentford - 37 points
Palace - 35 points
Everton - 33 points
Luton - 24 points

Personal Opinion:

*Beat Luton and we are safe (based on form!) barring a 10 point deduction / unsuccessful appeal.

**Beat Everton and we are safe (based on form!) if we both receive the same points deduction.

***Beat Luton and Everton, and Everton could go down instead of Luton (based on us receiving the same deduction as Everton.

Obviously, it’s not that simple!!! Belief, injuries, luck, unbeaten runs and VAR will all play a part…but I had to do this for my own sanity. I hope it helps with yours!
