Watching the way Utd played made me wonder:

If Spurs were in a QF of any competition against Chelsea, Arsenal, fack, even West Ham, can anyone imagine us putting in the kind of performance we saw this afternoon from Utd?

I honestly can’t. And that is a massive problem.

I would say 10 years ago under Jol or Redknapp we would. Poch didn’t prioritise domestic cups and did weird sheite in semis and finals.

So it’s been years since we’ve had that mentality.
We currently don’t have it.

What about our mentality in 2019 home and away to City, away at Ajax.

This United side got beat at home by Fulham on a couple of weeks ago.

You lot are making top 4 out to be something it's not. We got top 4 last season as well as Newcastle and now look at us both.

You need to start winning stuff or trying to win stuff. Finishing 4th (or 5th if it counts this year) isn't success.

I think he’s just trying to make himself feel better after Spur’s own humbling. I’m not sure how he makes the connection between the two clubs, guess he’s just another whose life is dictated by social media.

You don’t have to tell us this, we’ve been qualifying for the CL for a while now without winning anything.

Where it makes a difference for us though is that keeps us ahead of the likes of Villa/Newcastle/Brighton and West Ham - on an average basis, all have the odd season where they finish above us.

With Chelsea falling down the order, Liverpool in for a significant transition and United still being inconsistent, if we can improve then there is no reason not to think we can compete going forwards if we take some of the “lesser” competitions more seriously.

The last thing we want though is any of the chasing pack making significant in roads as they just become another hurdle we need to leap
