This FFP stuff is Ridiculous!

You would believe this, wouldn't you...because you want to......

"Man City face ‘immediate relegation’ if found guilty of 115 FFP charges, claims football finance expert as he reveals huge points deduction which club might accept"

City face 115 charges of violating Financial Fair Play rules and could be hit with a any number of serious sanctions if found guilty after a trial. Sport finance expert Rob Wilson believes they could be banished from the English top-flight straight away, though they could compromise by accepting a points deduction.

*********

Well, I have no idea who this so-called "expert" Rob Wilson is, I dunno if he's even for real?
But if this output from GOAL.COM is anywhere near reality.....well Spurs could be next!. You know, the new stadium financing and the interest payments and.....who knows what counts? Its not just players. Which is why there's a move on foot to change the FFP rules next year.
Yes, the rules ARE the problem. And it will take a genius to come up with a sensible, fair, and simple-to-understand, rule-set.

And Spurs are going to build a new hotel too! A VERY high one, right next to WHL!!!

Frankly, lets just put the whole premiership in a new "criminals League" and start all over? I'm for THAT!

City won't get charged with anything for a year or more and probably nothing at all. The thing is, unlike Forest and Everton they've not released honest accounts and they're determined to keep up the charade that the shell company sponsors etc was all legit. Which means actual criminal law proceedings to prove that they're lying before the football people can even get involved. And they'll tie it up with very expensive lawyers for as long as possible.

Dunno where you're getting this idea that Spurs are anywhere close to being in trouble with this though. We're literally one of the most secure clubs on that basis. Look here

If you read the article, it states Etihads accounts would all be open to the public if they go onto the stock market, which includes the City owners.

They’d be fecked.

Etihad had a turnover of £5bn last year, do you honestly think they would cook the books knowing they’ll be forensically analysed by some of the biggest financial companies in the World?

I could never imagine the UAE partaking in fraud and corruption.

Ted, reading your posts gives me the same feeling that reading my dad's posts on Facebook gives me. I wish I could say that was a good thing.

The point is....those figures you quote may ALL be wrong.
Nobody really understands the full implications of the FFP rules because they have not been investigated...i.e., the rules have consequences for what costs can be counted, and nobody knows the full extent. Never yet been litigated in court.
THAT is why they are going to change the rules!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You clearly do not understand the rules so are in no position to demand they change.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not demanding they change. FA says they will be changed next year.

Didn't Fergie get left off a speeding ticket once on a technicality. It's disgraceful and comparable with breaking the financial rules of a multi billion pound industry and then covering it up under a mountain of lawyers.
