Wolves v Aston Villa match thread

Date:- Saturday 30th March 2024
Venue:- Villa Park
Kick off:- 5.30pm

In the absence of Goldi, who is languishing in Hungary, I'll volunteer to do this match day thread albeit a brief one.

After the disappointment of going out of the FA cup to Coventry, It's back to league action and a visit to Villa Park. Wolves have a decent record of late against our opponents having not lost in the last 6 meetings. In fact we haven't lost a Premier League match at this venue in the last 7 visits, going back as far as 2009/10.

Pedro Neto is probably out for the rest of the season and it's still too early for Hwang, but looks like Cunha may well be fit for this one, if only on the bench, so we are still a little light up front. Bellegarde and Dawson may well be in contention as well after their recent knocks. Hopefully, all the players that were out on International duty have returned, injury free.

We could well see Air-Nouri up front again with Sarabia. Difficult to see who would be filling the #9 spot as Fraser hasn't really looked the part. GON may prefer a 3-5-2 set up for this one

Villa will be without Cash (injured) and McGinn (suspended), but will want to keep hold of 4th spot.

Form book shows it pretty even with Villa scoring 10 points from their last 6 and Wolves scoring 12. Hopefully, it'll be an entertaining game, but I fear Villa will just edge this one 2-1.

Rubbish match thread.

Hopefully we don’t see another one from this poster.

So, it looks like wolfie is finally stepping down from running his fun comp?

Understandable given all the time it takes to collate all the results and calculate the league positions, just for the benefit and enjoyment of others.

For myself, I have enjoyed my debut season in the competition and still have a chance of winning it

I hope wolfie isn't standing down because he can't handle the competition and the challenge I present in his quest for glory?

Evidently Chunha will be available tonight at Turf Moor "in some capacity".

Great news for us.

Oh, I'll still run the competition next season. Not sure where I've said otherwise. That's the problem with some on here. They twist words to suit their own agenda.
