Sad to hear the passing of Larry Lloyd, aged 75.
A real ‘larger than life’ character in the game, you always knew when he was about you often heard him before you saw him.
A tough uncompromising centre half, his partnership with Kenny Burns was something to behold, it was always a case of which was going to launch you first, and the furtherest.
Centre forwards certainly knew they had been in a game when they had played again Lloyd and Burns, a fearsome combination, which yielded many trophies.
He loved the game and played it how it should be played, with commitment, aggression and with respect, he wasn’t always perfect, but he certainly never shirked a challenge.
He seldom toed the line, often falling out with Cloughie, but was always one of the first names on the team sheet.
Didn’t get as many England caps as he would have liked, but was a top notch centre half.
Will be sadly missed, condolences to his friends and family.
A true gent and genuine character.

Growing up in Nottingham in the late '70s, Larry Lloyd's passing brings a wave of sadness, especially so soon after Trevor Francis's death. Although I couldn't afford tickets to see them play live, I glued myself to the television during those intense European campaigns, witnessing Lloyd and the Miracle Men make history.
In 2016, at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham, I got to see them on stage when they played "We Got the Whole World in Your Hands." It brought back memories of when Forest were the masters of Europe.

75 is no age at all really, just goes to show that we are not all going to survive into our mid 80's after all!

Apologies to interrupt the thread, but I won’t be doing the match thread today.
I’m out on the lash…which I’m sure Larry would agree with 👍🏼
