So, the press today are reporting that he’s staying at Leverkeusen. Perfectly understandable in the circumstances, being 10 points in front of BM in his first season. Best wishes for his future.
So, who does the club go for? A tad difficult, in the circumstances, with us, Beyern Munich, Real et al looking for new management at the same time.
My choice? For what it’s worth: Pep. He’s already with us, he knows the team, the club, the players, the standards inside out. He wants to go into the top management slot. Ajax are apparently interested in him, but, a la Shanks and Paisley, who didn’t want the job, got it, look what he achieved, why not give Pep a shot.
In a recent talksport(?) Edition, both Alan Brazil and Dean Saunders said that they’d each heard that first team LFC players wanted him there. Whether that’s correct or not, hopefully the players we’ve got now do the same as their predecessors did in Paisley’s time in persuading him to take the job?

I think we’d be up for that OP

I’m sure Pep would love to go to Anfield.
They literally throw money at him there.

Give Pep the job this summer. If he's not up to it then get Xabi next summer.

Neverkusen will win the league for the first time in their history!
Straightforward cup final against a second or third division side (which will only be their second 🏆 final win in 31 years) and maybe Europa.
Better off just leaving on a high as their most successful coach in yonks after double / treble is won, not going to get better than that the next season.

Any possible failures after should he decided to stay at Neverkusen, instead of leaving is more risky. Expectations will be considerably higher than they should be, for a club that should have no right / business challenging in CL + for the title with Bayern and Dortmund (Leipzig).
Failure could serve to overshadow, and outweigh quite phonenomenal full debut season.

Moreover, Bayern will most definitely strengthen their squad accordingly, whilst Leverkusen will most likely lose a few key players like Frimpong, Wirtz, Boniface.

The rumours are that Bayern will lose a few key players. German football is not a big pull anymore
