Easter Monday football...

Following the drama on Good Friday, Easter Monday threatens to be another great day of lower league football.

Leicester lost 1-0 to Bristol City in the early kick off, and they find themselves in that time slot again today. A tough home fixture against play-off chasing Norwich, who won on Friday to maintain their position in 6th. The game is on Sky at 12:30.

The big game sees new leaders Ipswich host a Southampton team that is losing touch with the top 2. Ipswich got a hard fought 1-0 win at Blackburn while the Saints dropped 2 points at home to Middlesbrough. Southampton are now 9 points off 2nd, although they do have 2 games in hand. This game is at 5:30 on Sky.

Leeds managed to salvage a 2-2 draw with Watford, and they are last up today with an 8pm kick off at home to Hull. Hulls own promotion hopes were hit by a 2-0 defeat on Friday and now find themselves 6 points off of a play-off spot.

Rotherham lost again, and could be relegated today with defeat at home to Millwall. The Lions are not safe yet, so need the points.

The other relegation places look to be between Sheffield Wednesday (23rd with 39 points), Huddersfield (39pts), Birmingham (39), Plymouth (41), Blackburn (42), QPR (43), Stoke (44) and Millwall (44), and Huddersfield and Stoke meet in Skys 3pm offering.
Sheffield Wednesday go to Middlesbrough and Birmingham host play-off chasing Preston North End.

Down in League 1, the top two (Portsmouth and Derby) meet tomorrow night on Sky. They strengthened their positions on Friday with wins and a Bolton draw. Bolton host Reading today desperate to reduce the 6 point gap to Derby.
The big shock of Friday was bottom placed Carlisle beating Peterborough 3-1, all but ending the Posh's hopes of automatic promotion. It has delayed what seems inevitable for Carlisle, who could still be relegated today if they lose to Lincoln and Burton beat Barnsley. Port Vale and Cheltenham got big wins on Friday to keep the fight for survival going. Vale are at Northampton and Cheltenham host Exeter today.

Wrexham beat Mansfield in a 3rd vs 1st battle on Friday, leaving the door open for Stockport to claim top spot. Wrexham don't play until tomorrow at Doncaster so a chance for Stockport (at home to AFC Wimbledon) and Mansfield (at home to Accrington Stanley) to put down a marker.
Forest Green Rovers lost, but Sutton United and Colchester United had significant results. Sutton host Swindon, FGR go to Crewe, CU go up to Tranmere and Grimsby host Bradford as the four battle to avoid relegation.

Dartford lost again, and sit 5th from bottom in the National League South. They face Eastbourne Borough, who are 22nd, in a massive game. With Taunton (21st) having 4 games in hand it is a perilous situation for the Darts and 3 points today is a must.

I am off the watch the Ites at 3pm as they chase a play-off place in the Isthmian South East.

Some betting accounts need resurrecting, so what a day to win big at the bookies! Jesus died for your sins, so you may as well commit some today - have a bet, have a beer and covert your neighbours wife and/or goat.

Blackburn fcked my bet.

Gonna bet on and keep an eye on two remaining games.

Very tight at the top. Usually there’s a run-away leader if I remember correctly?

Glad I didn't go all the way to Blackpool.

Not that I was ever going to!
